  1. Looks like it should be in a thunderbird episode
  2. Yes mate and I gad to keep the revs up around 2k for 10 minutes before things circulate properly.ive got some work on a mates car tomorrow now do the stat might have you wait a week yet
  3. Hey nick hope your well mate.... Nothing has been done to the egr at all..I have purchased a new stat to fit saturday..intssted the current one while it was out and I'm not convinced it's working smoothly and looks old so it's got to go.. I've just put a brand new expansion tank cap and been out and done a few shops local and checked level each time and it seems to have remained where it was before i went out. Is the egr valve and cooler all one bit?
  4. I think replaced the cap ages ago qhen I fitted the new rad as the old one fell to bits one day, could be the wrong cap though..
  5. I did try to run it stat free but the housing won't bolt fully down without it fitted.i tested the old one and it opens but very slow. People are saying the liners have dropped in the bores but my understanding of that is that the car would barely run amd id have water filling up the engine and turning the oil milky.there is none of this happening and the car runs sweet as a nut still and pulls hard still.. Had a go at posting a vid.. Before I pulled over to do this the car was behaving fine and I'd already checked the coolent level which was on point..car started to get hot sonpulped over to check it out.within seconds though it had cooled down via radiator cooling fans
  6. There was a company reviving these with all modern tech..someone done it with a delta a few years back..looked like a pure wet dream.went like one too
  7. Wow what a racket love it..looks like hard work to drive
  8. Would be an interesting experiment though
  9. I told myself the plod car ended up there through seeing the lorry coming at him or the inside lane so dived right haha
  10. When I went past it it looked like it had tried to drive off as the grass/mud was a mess close up
  11. Imagine the mess if them bits of wire touched! Tnf it would arc like crazy anyway
  12. Well that grille is ghastly to say the least..other than that it's pretty slick eh?
  13. I will run it without it first yes..should get a ramp to use Friday eve
  14. If its the rgr cooler then I'll simply bypass it hopefully
  15. Oil is clean as is the coolent.im going with the stat too.i think it's not fully opening when it's ment to and restricting the flow..
  16. The outcome isn't lookin great Still has cooling issues though it doant overheat Egr cooler Thermostat Or headgasket/gaskets So I'm going for a stat and egr cooler bypass and hope that sorts it
  17. This lorry was heading for the lorry Park at manston airport today but decided to park here instead
  18. I'm like a fat kid at a sweet shop waiting g for it to open atm just wanna tax it man!
  19. Its jot even been hassle tbh mate.i bought it broken, fixed it and caused some issues my self but on the whole almost 2 years of ownership has been great with it..id like to complete the astra by painting it a d new seats (i can afford for it to sit around in the workshop for a month or 2 while I decide i guess..in that time the wheels need to be repainted Nd a good valet regardless.. I'm confident I've cured the overheating issue with the signum so I'm now going to use it for a month and see if all is well.. If it does happen to overheat again then its straight in the shop and stripped for parts
  20. Proper but now I have to decide which one goes up forsale.. This or the astra
  21. Its been mate just needed a new number plate.been back for retest now just sat on the forecourt awaiting tax on the first of march
  22. I've nev been so excited to have a car back on the road before haha
