  1. You have a new machine? On a more jokey side, is it this , http://www.grubinski.com/grubinski/photos/...nment/index.php make sure you scroll down for the pictures.
  2. If they are both pointing in by that amount will it not keep going forward until turned? I was mowing the lawn earlier and noticed that tyre on the drivers side. When you let of the gas whilst in gear my dads car makes a horrid noise like grinding. Wasn't sure if it was the diff, i was thinking of taking it to the shop for him as he went on the train instead rather than put another 500 miles on it. I wonder where nearby does geometry alignment .
  3. It would be annoying having to check all your wheels every time you go somewhere to make sure kids haven't shoved a stick or metal bar through the spokes .
  4. I wonder if Lexus will bring out a hybrid nitro/electric r/c car, quiet with electric power, kicking in the engine for high speed, and switching it off for mpg . Then Tony could design a mini R/C car Geometry machine. He could set up geometry at R/C car meets . He could call the company "Model Wheels In Motion" . I chose Electric because nitro makes more noise and is more expensive. Easier to build an electric car first time and easier to set up, and with a couple of battery packs can be used for ages. Nitro requires messy fuel, tuning etc, which is ok if you want to do that, but electric is more fun for plug and play when your not that serious and dont want to wake up the neighbours doing it early in the morning when there are less people round. Hmm i might charge up my imprezza soon.
  5. I thought you may like the AE86 they do an Altezza as well. I'd of thought the Altezza would look pretty much like an IS wouldn't it? You could probably buy an extra shell if you want another car appearence as well. Remember you need a hand controller and rechargeable battery et al on top of the car price..
  6. http://www.modelsinmotion.co.uk/category.asp?catcode=267 Drifting cars it says, lol. The funniest thing is the name, Models In Motion, what more of a subtle hint do you need to buy one, lol.
  7. On the Soarer some have put on poly bushes as most of the cars are getting to the age where the originals are wearing/worn out. Usually you then hear the people complain about the amount of squeaking they cause, and the embarrasment some owners feel as the cars squeak over every bump. They are much cheaper than standard ones, but then the labour is pretty pricey, so unless you do it yourself or know someone who can do it cheap, the difference in price becomes a smaller issue as removing the lower control arms and getting hte old bushes out isn't a 10 min job. Some with polybrushes then replace them with rubber ones, thus incurring 2 times the labour. Having to regrease the bushes would just be annoying. I have a set of genuine rubber toyota bushes waiting to go in.
  8. Wouldn't want to have to buy a new alloy every time you got a new tyre. .
  9. I remember those from a while ago, think they were on ebay. The thing is the noise is all good when slowing down at the lights, until you set off again and the person jogging next to them out runs them and people realise there isn't a turbo there. Then everyone just laughs. Tell him to mount a 4L V8 over the rear wheels and make it rear wheel drive and i may be more interested .
  10. I had some p6000's on my car (still have 2 at the front) and had 2 goodyear f1's put on at the back as they were wearing down. I much prefer the goodyears and am not much of a fan of the pirellis. The Goodyear F1's are good in the wet and the dry, many tyres only seem good on one or the other. However all cars and tyre sizes differ so your probably best off asking other owners which they prefered, especially if they have had a few different sets on the car over time.
  11. Someone showed me a picture on another forum of a week old set of magnacor leads with the ends already disintegrating. The advantage of the toyota wires is that they are already pre fixed into the holders so you literally bolt the holders in place and fit the ends on to the distributor and spark plugs. The benefit of the magnacours is that they are cheaper, but the downside is they are thicker than the toyota leads so are harder to fix in place, and you certainly dont want them coming loose where they run over the cambelt. You have to remove the guides as they would get in the way, and you have to lay all 8 in the right order from one to 8 with 2 cables from each side going to the other, and of course they are all different lengths so you have to make sure you get the right one. I may get a set sent over from america, as you save about 50 % or pay about the same with a set of 8 spark plugs (£6.99 each over here) and well as 2 caps and 2 distributors as well, so quite a saving over the uk price. I need to change the brake pads though, anyone know anywhere that sells ebc red stuff cheaply, the pads i want are £90 for the axle set (all 4) i think DP31007 are the right ones.
  12. £152+vat from toyota . Not sure whether to get a set of aftermarket magnacor ones at £150 ish inc vat .
  13. I think the leads that are bust come from the drivers side, so i'll need to remove the air intake etc and all the stuff fromthe drivers side as well. As it will take ages, i'll get a new set of leads i think and then i can just swap them over while i have all the bits off, rather than having to do it twice. I best speak to Toyota and find out how long it will take to get a set. Thanks for your reply .
  14. If you changed over one side of a v8's spark plugs, (4) With ngk bkr6e instead of the bkr6ep plugs, (one grade lower, bkr6eix are the top ones) that were in there before, would that make any difference to the running. Now considering it is a 15yr old car, and the wires say on them 1991, so either wires from 1991 or a replacement set for a 1991 car which it is. And maybe someone bent the wires quite a bit as there are so many pipes around and someone was getting p**sed of with them not going into place. Is it pretty likly that one of the ht leads has been ssnapped inside. It doesn't quite sound right when you drive, and possibly seems down on power, but could the spark plug so this rather than the ht leads, as the ht leads from toyota are about £150 iirc, and i need to take the other half of the covers apart to check the leads, which would take me ages. If they need changing then i will change them in a few days, just waiting to get the money to pay for them into my account, but i dont want to brake anything, or buy them if they are not needed. .
  15. I need some new brakes. You can bolt uk supra mk4 4 pots directly on, just needs a slight bit of the brake shield moving as they get in the way of the disk or something, iirc. Also you can use i think it is mk3 ls400 brake calipers, they are also 4 pot like the UK supra brakes, but i think they are slighlty less powerfull but they also weigh alot less, and are in less demand than UK supra 4 pots which alot of jap import supra owners seem to upgrade to. I'd like to change them but you need bigger alloys, and i cant afford them as well, and have just put 2 brand new f1's on these tyres, so i think i will replace with the factory parts and have the calipers checked to make sure they operate smoothly as they have a habit of siezeing apparently.

    Clonk, clonk

I recall the saying, your only as old as the one you feel. I think thats right. Maybe that should go in the motto thread .

34? . Also, i got a little compressor from homebase, it is a stanley one designed for hobby use, so is only 6L but has a 2hp motor, not sure if that is enough for a blast on an air gun, but you can get a nail gun .
  18. Its a nice idea, many sites dont allow a signature graphic though. You could also make a smaller square animated one to use as an avatar as well though.

    ARB`s

Yeah the suspension removes the need for them. http://planetsoarer.com/circuitsoarers/350gif.gif Hows that for not much roll . http://planetsoarer.com/UZZ32/uzz32.html Gives detail on how the systems work together. (4WS, TRC, ACTIVE SUSPENSION, ABS)
