  1. Nice one....is it your first time?
  2. Thats what i'd loke to do to a few fast fit fitters!! overtighten my nuts and expect the same.
  3. For me they both do the same thing.....almost
  4. As a rule i never have my nuts to tight i do them up with a socket to an even pressure all round then just give a little more....not much say a quarter turn then check them after about 20 miles or so.
  5. "Todays Active Posts" at the top of the page plz Oh my G.OD my eyesight is going as i've just seen it at the top of the page unless you did as i asked in record time.
  6. Stay well away...i think its a geeky matter and far to complex for an IT numpty (like me)
  7. Barrie i think Tony means where the tyre is shiny on the inside and is confined to that area. Tony does this mean he needs to buy a new tyre or can it be recovered, and is it just the rear n/side ?
  8. I love it Tony its just that it caught me out and i wasn't expecting it and i was to heavy on the right foot. Its much more fun when i know i've turned it off and can apply the throttle as needed.
  9. I always go for a nice pattern thats pleasing to the eye. Janey?....when was Barrie ordained he kept that quiet.
  10. Coming home one night in the wet (p***ing down),id been in the car about 5 mins and i reached down to turn the heated seats on and my sausage like fingers turned the TC off as i turned into a roundabout a little to quick than i should of and the car swung round and i thought i was on a fun fare ride.....i've still got the wifes nail marks in the leather on the side of the passenger seat
  11. Best: JDM h/lights and f/closure and coilovers Worst: Eyebrows.
  12. I've spoken to a few people that have done track/drift days and its not surprising to hear that they guard against sharing info relating to set-up as they dont want to give to much away,so it seems its a trial/adjust as you go basis and as you know each track will be different. And they say motor sport is a friendly environment
  13. My front tints ARE illegal...but come MOT time my friendly Lexus tester never says nothing. So as far as im concerned im legal officer.......honestly

    Tyres

Doesn't look to be that low, looks the same as mine when it was lowered so it seems a bit odd that yours is rubbing on 18's.

    Tyres

Thats a bit concerning on 18's, unless your car is very low.
  16. Tony i have searched under my car for bleed valves....but there are none so its bazzas way or the highway.
  17. The average punter is believing what "quick fit" so called pro's tell them is wrong with the steering,i have told loads of people about WIM but when you start talking about castor....k.i.p and the like it just goes straight over their heads.I have a tough time trying to educate people (with my very limited knowledge) about the affects of a proper geometry set up and the pounds they will save in tyres. I know how you feel now Tony.
  18. I've heard that BMW'S and Mercs are bad as to set them up properly you have to have weights set out on each seat or alternatively take the family with you and keep them inside the car when the geom is being carried out. Introduce the family to WIM on your next visit.
  19. Of course tyres are a personal choice and the majority would go for all the above but i was introduced to Nankangs (dont laugh) they were given to me on the proviso that if i didn't like them i could keep them with nothing to pay.So far the wear rate is very good (Tony can back this up), grip is as equal to anything else ive used in the past (most of the above) and the same goes for handling and responsiveness to cornering. At the end of the day its only as good as the alignment of the suspension/wheels which is why i/we go to WIM.
