  1. Absolutely. Driving while using a mobile to video something is very dangerous indeed.
  2. Please wait a few moments for Video to Load!
  3. You get one chance to take a vid of this, the least you could do is hold the camera still.
  4. Original forum thread is here. Note, the date....
  5. Simple answer is to run winter tyres through winter, and leave them on into the spring until they're gone completely. The put your summer back on and buy more winters next time round. My job means I have to get about when the weather's bad, so I start every winter on a fresh set of tyres and run them til they die. Then I get about 4 months of summer tyre use before the winter comes again.
  6. Cheers folks. It's a joy to drive, and turned in nearly 65mpg on the drive home from Nottingham when we picked it up.
  7. Picked it up today. Full list of options added are * Xenons * Washers for Xenons * Full leather interior * Heated front seats * Electric lumbar support * Cruise control * RNS 510 touch screen satnav. * Tyre pressure monitor system * Multi function steering wheel * Rear parking sensors * 6 cd changer in the front arm rest * Front armrest * Full VW service history with cambelt and service just done. * Heated, electric adjustable mirrors.
  8. Yep, the Bora has been discontinued and a name change back to the Jetta. Funny thing is, the Golf Estate is actually a Jetta front end with the estate part bolted on.
  9. The Bora was the Mk4 Golf version with the boot, and the Jetta is now the Mk5 Golf with a boot.
  10. As it happens both our old car and the new one have the same engine. It's 140 BHP, and mileage in the Altea was about 45mpg average. In the Jetta it'll be closer to 50mpg, due to it being a lighter car. Edit: Oh, it's a 58 plate with just about 75k miles on the clock.
  11. It's a trade deal, and ours is going in part ex. It's the 2.0ltr TDI Sport, and comes with extras: Xenons. Parking sensors. Headlight washers. Touchscreen headunit with satnav. Cruise control. Full leather with heated front seats. 6 cd changer in the front armrest. Front armrest. Multi function steering wheel controls. Heated, electric adjustable mirrors. Also, full VW service history with cambelt changed just last week.
  12. We've had the Seat Altea for 4 years now, and it's just tipped over 140k trouble free miles, so it's got to the time when it needs to go. This is what it looked like not long after we bought it, and to be fair it looks pretty much the same now, just a little more tired. So, on Monday we're off to Nottingham to pick up this. Comes with a few toys as well.
  13. Ladders are perfectly safe when used for the job they're designed for. They are a means of access. When people start using them as a place of work then they become less safe.
  14. Here. Or just put Morrisons ladder into Youtube search.
  15. Been removed. Don't suppose anyone saved it did they?
  16. I thought they ran on kerosene? aviation fuel is not diesel. but its been a hard day and i could be very wrong! Yep, you're correct. Very close to Kerosene anyway, with a few specific additives for antistatic and suchlike.
  17. Reminds me of the VW commercial.
  18. Already got my winters bought for this year. Had them for about 6 weeks. In my experience, if you find some, buy them. Don't stand around and think about it or some bugger else will buy them. The place I got mine from have sold out already, and no sign of any more on the horizon.
  19. I think as a concept car is was quite interesting. No bloody use for reverse parking of course (no mirrors etc.) but not a bad looking machine. Please wait a few moments for Video to Load!
  20. There's a good 10k miles left on those pads in my view.
  21. Pagid are good enough. Apec are also good and budget (I use 'em on the van), but Eicher is one I'd avoid. Gets some bad press on other forums.
  22. A reasonably nice looking car, driven by a knob who can't drive without squealing the tyres on EVERY bend, and filmed by an even bigger knob who can't hold a camera steady and has no concept of colour, light, or depth of field. I'm not sure if it's a film about a car, or a if it's a study in artistic impression featuring someone driving a car.
  23. I can't watch that. I managed about 40 seconds, then the lad caught himself right in the conkers when he slipped off the bollard. That was enough for me.
