  2. wow Tony really hope Joe makes a full recovery! made me squeemish over pulling the eye out etc, but modern medican means hes probably going to have a sore / achey eye for a while but should return to normal. thoughts with him and family
  3. thats awsome ... Get out my way silver civic!
  4. yes.. but thats Ford. do I really need to say more ?
  5. wow. sounds like the S is causing a bit of a pain for you guys! Honda are great with the cars they build.. i just have never understood why they dont grease things when assembling the car!
  6. if they put their twin turbo diesel lump in the front and changed the stupid front bumper... i think they would have been on to a serious winner... now they have put a 2.0 petrol ?? engine in it rea right..
  7. thank goodness for roll cages! i bet that was slightly scarey for the driver of the white truck though!
  8. i think saying hes 'drunk' is a MASSIVE understatment.. i wonder what his Alcohol / blood level is like
  9. Why? Both of our cars have budgets, apart from my rears which are toyos. I was considering toyos for the pug but Tony talked me out of it. The car doesn't need performance tyres and you only notice the difference with budgets in the wet. In those conditions you should be driving more carefully anyway and increase your breaking distance so if you need to stop/swerve quickly you have the space to do so. It's the people who don't adjust their driving style in these conditions that are idiots and need banning from the road. i complealy agree with the fac that in the wet you need to change your driving style BUT... i have been though several budgets on a few cars i have owned at the thought of saving £30 per corner and the difference was huge. im not saying you have to spend £200 a corner.. heck! i only spend £70 a corner of vred ultrac sessantas. the lack of confidence a budget tyre gives the driver especially in the need of evasive action worries me. I have been on several advanced driving courses to improve my driving (not police ones) and every time they state the only thing between you and the road if your tyres, the next thing is your brakes.
  10. True, but that's what I want Seriously though I know what you're saying, but to use these cars normally on the road probably doesn't require such expensive tyres, nor carbon ceramic brakes or any of the other bits that are starting to make performance cars too expensive in terms of running costs........I'm pretty sure the recession will run these prices down over the next few years though, as otherwise these cars will depreciate in value even quicker than they already are. yes, you are correct.. they dont need all those fancy bots for on road use.. but it will bite you in the backside one day when you dont use the proper stuff and you either need to brake or get out of a situation pronto and find you cant. I find that with my car.. its only a honda accord 2.2 diesel but i still fit 'performance brake and tyres to the car mainly for safety 'just in case' i find my self in a situation where i need to swerve, brake hard etc, i can get out of it. people who fit cheap 'budget' tyres to their car should be banned from the road.
  11. i do agree, but alot of people forget that the GTR is a complete steal for 50K. it does keep up with the big boys... and to be able to do that you have to pay some dosh! you cant have a performance car with the running costs of a family hatch
  12. I was going to do that sort of arch work on my old mk3 seat ibiza. so we lowered her to the wanted height, drove the car around the block to settle things in..... then compleatly failed to see how we could lift the car back up to change the suspension.. the car was too low to get any jack underneath it! As a show car it looks good, but really, you know he will drive it and will spend the next week getting his back straightened again
  13. that polo has had ALOT of arch work done... crazy look and to be honest a little silly... some cars in the dub scene look amazing, but most just look stupid
  14. it sounds like a toe problem to me. best get a full geo done on a WIM approved place
  15. adam_r

    Geometric stagger

surely the car should be set up as evenly as possible ?
  16. Tony, we would be running 15's on the track for several reasons..... 1) they will have a smaller RR which means the silly long gearing in the 600 is brought down a little so we can get a little more out of 5th 2) cheaper tyres than 16's 3) they clear the calipers we would be running 195/50(?)/15 ....
  17. so, would somthing like a t1r be able to cope with the weight / crap suspension of the 600 ? as I said before, we really arnt super competative, but we do like to push the car / ourselfs. if a t1r could only handle a few track days with only a slight drop in performance / grip over the others then they i think would be the ones we would go for. would a soft sidewall contribute to the tyre's over heating / 'going off' too quickly ?
  18. yes i did leave out the R888.... its a great try but suffers in the wet which when we do track days in the winter months we dont want to buy specific cold/ wet day tyre's as we dont have the money. we are aware the 600 is a big heavy wallowy car but we got it more as a toy (and because we picked it up in perfect condition, 1 owner for £350 with 60k miles on it.) i wish we could uprate the suspension but it would mean us spending mega bucks as there is no camber, toe etc adjustment.. i think the only thing you can alter is the castor
  19. Hello everyone. Me and a friend have a rover 600 ti as a 'track' car. basically we are not entering competitions and are just having a lot of fun we have decided that after our last track day at cadwell where we had to drive home on a bald tyre that we needed ot get a second set of alloys. i have been able to pick up a cheap set of honda alloys for £80 so im looking at new 'track dedicated' tyres (to be put on and taken off at the track so dont have to be road legal). anyway.... here are some of my options, but im not very good with knowing how tyres cope and which one is best etc.. so im hoping for some pointers. Yoko ad08 - £75.50 per tyre.. been hearing rave reviews about these saying they are THE best track tyre out there for this type of money. Hankook RS2 - £52.00 per tyre.. no experiance but i have heard good things on other forums Yoko prada spec 2 - £43.80 - cheap, had them on a previous road car and where not bad... do wear out quicky though! Toyo T1R - £29.10.. by far the cheapest tyre. never used myself but again have heard good things from them. since we dont have solid suspension or uprated anti rollbars the 600 handles like a boat and without spending lots (which we dont want to do), we cant improve the handling that easily. we are trying to keep things cheap (whole car is currently under £900 including all the bits done) so im really tempted by the t1r's BUT im worried we will lose quite a bit of grip / make them go off too quickly. we currently have vred sportrac 3 on the car but found they went off quite quickly at cadwell. Thanks for your help in advance
  20. how does it get the traction ???
  21. its fake from when the bus over turns and hits the floor. the 'bounce' is very unreaslistic and it would have slid more too
