Sorry for dragging up old thread, but read with interest as I do put a little copper slip on the wheel bolts. Not on the thread, but on the flat surface to stop it sticking to the wheel. I also put some on the wheel hub to stop it sticking on. (had it before where wheels are stuck fast) As long as you avoid the thread is it ok?

Thanks, food for thought. Interesting to get someones view with 452's who is actually deploying some power down.

Lots of tread left there too. Not taken long to do that! As I understand it legal tread needs to cover at least 2/3's of the tyre? So they would still be legal?

Thanks for the suggestion, my mum has Toyo Proxies on the back of her 3.0 Estate, I can't really compare noise as the estates are louder anyway. Looking for a bit more grip than Falkens, also couple of people have had them on 17's and reported tram lining. I've managed to find Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 for good price, reviews suggest very good! Anybody have any experience of those? I can't see them on blackboots website, @WIM/Blackboots I brought tyres to you what would be the cost of fitting? Thanks

Hi WIM (Tony!) Myself & my family have been bringing our Omegas for you to some time, great service as always I'm getting myself a newer & more powerful version of mine, a 3.2 V6 Saloon. I had Falkens (912's & 452's(?)) fitted before on 225/55/R16, which were fine with my 2.2 16v, nice and quiet, they have lasted 36k too! But with V6, I want something a bit more grippy, but at same time want to keep noise low, as I mainly do motorway miles. I'm going to be one of those annoying people who wants grip, but not at the cost of road noise Can you recommend anything in 235/45/17? Thanks

maybe a tip off to the local police where this guy lives, with copy of the photos? On Police Interceptors a while ago some lad got pulled because some neighbours thought he was dealing drugs (all innocent in the end) but the tip off had a flag put in the ANPR database and so he was stopped next time he passed a patrol car.

No problem, although i just might have put a spanner in the works, i just double checked what tyres are on there now, they are 225 50 R16, i believe i quoted you 225 55 R16 on the phone. Do carry the 225 50 R16 in stock? Can 55/50's be mixed? My rears have plenty of tread left. Cheers No they can't be mixed..... can you call tomorrow so we can get the order straight. Yes not a problem, thanks for the quick reply. I hope you can get 50's otherwise its going to get expensive!

nope ! can be bald on the remaining 25% unless its gross weight is over 3500kg The Omega is heavy, but not that heavy I would happily buy Eagle Venturas again, i think they are very good tyres, ok not a lot of grip but just go on forever! Tony, can you still get these? Not sure....... what size are they? I *think* they are 225 55 R16

Thanks Tony, i was afraid you were going to say that I'll pop down at the weekend for a set of front boots and a tune up! Sorry mate... Tiss the law If you are coming at the weekend let me know for sure because we are rammed...... It's all those pesky customers I posted here cause i knew i would get an honest answer! Too many places make that sound of sucking air through their teeth and say "oooo need new ones there" I shall ring tomorrow, sadly, i cannot get down during the week. i would say it is touch and go wether it is on the legal or illegal side either way dont risk yourself and get a new set Got to agree... wise words inded. I got nearly 40k out of the current set, so can't complain really! Is it worth putting the rears on the front? As its a RWD car, so guessing its best to have the best tyres on the back?
