Camber, wheel offset and SAI all combine to avoid problems associated with the forward motion and the opposing resistance don't they ? ALso, on turn, if the wheel is able to lean against the lateral force (that is, on a left turn the forces that the vehicle turns against) to improve grip (without increasing grip per se). uh, I didn't explain that very well....
  2. wasn't it the drifters who started the fad ?
  3. If it's a v8 M5, then it's the older e39 5 series model which is obviously a different body-shape to the current e60 5 series (which mine is). Therefore I would expect aerodynamics to play a different part - although it may also be affected by this issue. Can you ask him the question? Thanks! I finally got round to asking Pele about his V8 M5 today. He hasn't experienced anything as you describe with his earlier version. Wasn't really expecting him to have done so but it would have been interesting if he had. He's currently riding on Contis, incidentally.
  4. -latest arrivals. Got rid of two smaller kits to make room. The alternate colour scheme of the Flanker will be used on thr Berkut for my "what-if" scenario. Had a bit of a scare when I thought I had lost the Berkuts canopy parts! Found 'em hiding in another kit !?
  5. Lexus SC430 (folding roof coupe thing) ? Excpetion that proves the rule ?
  6. It occured to me today that most of the runflats I've ever seen have had Asymmetric tread patterns: Dunlop Sport 01 & Goodyear Eagle somethin' or other Run On Flat Michelin Pilot PHP ZeroPressure Conti Premium Contact2 SSR Bridgestone Turanza ER300 RFT & Bridgestone Potenza (various BMW & MINI OEM fitments, forget the specfics) The only one that isn't, that I've seen, is the Pirelli Euforia with a symmetrical pattern. Any specfic reason or just conincidence ?
  7. Any idea what day yet ? I need mucho notice to book it off of work.

Ah right that makes sense. I'm pretty poor at clamping the wheel straight. Maybe I should buy one of those wheel clamp spirit level thingies...
  10. Must have made a right mess of the tyres. Did you measure it without the weights too ie; to actually see the shift ? I always mean to try but never have the time.
  11. Some nicely prep'd stuff there! Just out of interest, does WIM keep shims "in stock" or are they all special order ? And what do you guys think about stretched tyres (as on the S13) ?
  12. Doesn't look so terrible in the picture. Too new for me but they're nice cars usually. When they're tidy like...

Been really quiet at work the past few days so nothings been on the Hunter recently. Spent some time revising the Video Tech vids. The videos state clearly front Toe alone won't cause a pull but it also states a rack mounted with a vertical slant (ie; not level) will cause toe tendancey to be uneven and a cause of bump steer. That seems slightly contradictory ? Or is it because bump steer is a sudden force ? Also had me thinking how many people mistake an off-set steering wheel position for a pull ?
  14. always been a fan of F-Bodies myself. Would have got an 80s Camaro but it won't fit in my lock-up
  15. can you imagine something that big, that fast, travelling that close past you and at such a crazy angle ?
  16. Oh. Uh, dunno. It was a random google image.....
  17. I'd just refreash any worn stuff. Like you say should drive nicely as stock.

Not sure but looks likely the actuator is faulty. The pads, the sliders and the piston are all free moving. Handbrake works but doesn't disengage properly. Don't really want to replace the caliper as I plan to upgrde to Z31 Fairlady but that'll probably be a while away yet.
