  1. My stomach is still churning from the whole eye removal thing and cleaning "sockets" What set up apart from the new bushings etc are you running? Saw the vids over on S2Ki. Looked like a good day out!
  2. 4 x Falken FK452's fitted and Geo done. Few settings out but nothing major... wafty feeling at speed now corrected. Ill thank Dacorums best speed humps and pot holes for that Cheers Pete for the setup and Tony for the PAX ride in the Lotus while I waited... always wanted to have a go in one as one of my dreams cars growing up. Love the squirrel munching noises it makes on letting off (turbo noises for those that don't know ) She's a gem and been well looked after, you got a "good un" Keep up the good work chaps and ill be back. p.s Brake calipers are looking great after 15 minutes with a motorized wire brush
  3. I'll be there. A couple of wim customers/friends will be hopefully meeting up there too See you all round lunch time!
  4. Had them on the STI (ZZ3) when i picked it up and I wasnt that impressed... they seemed flaky and looked like they would get demolished after a few thousand hard miles, the sidewalls were very soft in comparison to other makes. Got rid and put the Falkens on when the new wheels turned up. I think the general issue is - they need to be grippy and have stiff sidewalls. If they last 6-7k then so be it. Would rather that than end up in a ditch
  5. Attending E55EX_RACER Tony Scorps Steve Might be attending h jammy S2IM Depending if I have to deliver our old sofa to Devon But I'd like to make it!!
  6. Everything... Falkens get a good review. A lot of owners stick with BS or go for Goodyears Assym's which are another option I guess. I do use the Astra yep... guess what... that needs new tyres and brakes as well That will be just getting normal replacement as we haven't had any issues with that even on the fortuna sport SP2000's They have lasted a good 15k on the fronts and still have a few MM left. Nice tyres made from rock!!
  7. Done 13k now since I bought it. 2 Airfield days and one track day. Bridgestones I feel are ok... when it snaps it really goes. Cant help but feel the tyre choice can help with this too... One thing - the Bridgestones were useless in the bad winter. Falkens were ok - but that was 4 wheel drive
  8. So... Been on the Bridgestone RE050's since I bought the car last year. (This will be my third set on the rears and fronts are now also needed). On the Subaru I was an avid fan of the Falken FK452's. These tyres took a tremendous amount of punishment and for the price I was overly impressed. Now the time has come to replace all four on the Honda I am tempted to go for the Falkens over the Bridgestones. Any reason why I shouldnt? Are the sidewalls just as stiff on the Falkens as they are on the Bridgestones? (Real requirement for the S2000 and its handling - soft sidewalls such as toyo's wont do as they need to be over inflated from OEM spec) Any advice appreciated BTW... need them real soon! Rears down to 2.4mm!!
  9. Ill be up for this... Marchmont arms or three horseshoes down the winkwell are good pubs with nice outside areas.
  10. Whats going on within those graphs? Power curve is everywhere? Guess it was the way the put the power down on the dyno?
  11. Completely standard 320d Coupe Convertible. 58 plate with approx 20k on the clock. The two pictures were of each front Tyre. The tyre with the least wear is how the rears are going too... so that's 4 corners he will need replacing pretty sharpish. The wear pattern just seemed completely strange to me. At first he checked the bad wheel and thought some trim must have been rubbing against the inner wall, but after getting under the car i couldn't see anything and checked out the other tires. All 4 are going the same way.
  12. Hes had the car 10000 miles and 6 months. Lucky they are runflats other wise it would have been a blow out on one of them. He has to drive to essex tonight (home) so will be getting the bad tyre done but is going to get it up to WIM for investigation and other possible tyre replacements once someone can have a look. I was a bit shocked when he showed me!
  13. A couple of photos of the BMW 320d Coupe Convertable (58 plate) with the tyre wear issue.... What would cause this? Is it the Geo? I initally thought it would be something rubbing on the tyres but looking at all 4 corners... they are all going that way! He is going to get it booked in for a geo asap with you guys but is having to get emergency tyre replacements done today so he can drive the car at least. Cheers Iain
  14. Done three track days and 10000 miles on these pads and had no issues at all. In fact I could go for standard all over again. But the fluid will help with prolonged braking and from what I've read, the DS2500's (which are uprated) will help with the feeling of any fade and bite. Standard disks are more then capable. Theres going to be some awesome roads to drive down... Col De Turini, Stelvio pass etc Summer... Roof down, convoy of a few of us. Am pretty excited about it.
  15. Standard disks, DS2500 pads, and uprated fluid. Keep them from boiling over later when the car gets a thrashing through the french alps
  16. Lovely jubbly. Once the parts are in Ill give you a shout
  17. Are WIM ok with this? I have ordered some new brakes and a decat pipe and would rather entrust you guys to fit them instead of anyone else. Do you have a policy on it? I know from years ago places like krap fit etc do and would not fit anything they didnt supply. Cheers
  18. Just come across these... seen a few **** takes of music videos and they are hilarious: Please wait a few moments for Video to Load! One for the 80's!!
  19. Blimey that isn't good. Did you send them back?? Are the Brakes Int disks any better? I cant get over how cheap they are compared to the Honda replacements. So perhaps standard Honda pads and BI disks with a fluid change...? I found at Bedford after the long straight (just tapped 130mph down it ) the 4th time my brakes were applied hard there was nothing there so pulled straight into the pits. Left it 20 minutes and went back out, all was good again for another few laps so I am guessing this was the fluid over cooking and not the parts as they worked as expected again straight after?
  20. Hi Conanius, Now you have had this set up for a while, what are your thoughts? Just had my car serviced today and need new front disks/pads and possibly rear pads. Worth while upgrade? Do the ferodo's muller the disks? Doubt I will do as much track action as you but certainly will go a couple of times a year.
  21. Congrats Look forward to meeting you in the future!
  22. Thanks Conanius Look forward to it. Get some video from Sunday as well... the Bedford Video looked like good fun. Your driving style is a lot more smoother and controlled than mine
  23. I'm running Powerflex Polybushes all round, so I think thats partially removed... Maybe I need to consider the bumpsteer kits... apparently it seems to work wonders ! If you come out for the WIM night out I'll definitely pick your brains over your set up. Very interested in a more planted feel and settling the rear end down
  24. I had the same thing at Bedford and put it down to being on the limit of the car or the RWS that these are supposed to deliver from the rear wheels. This only happened to long bends that I could feel...
