  1. Oh your problem was with Toyo's? Phew, it was your experience that was worrying me (same car and wheels), thought you had eagle F1s. Obviously there have been mixed experiences, but as above I highly recommend the Eagle F1 Asymmetrics, brilliant in every area (on my car anyway)
  2. That is gorgeous, absolutely love the F40..........
  3. Of course, that makes sense when you're not 100% sure about them. Was it just cars on 18" alloys that were having trouble, or was it more down to a certain sidewall height?
  4. Cheers Tony, hopefully it was just a batch problem then as mine are still perfect, best tyres I've ever had
  5. Wouldn't it make sense if manufacturers made the tyre valve look different in some way to indicate they had sensors attached?
  6. Haven't really been on here in a while due to being a bit busy, but after a thread started by Anees about his BMW I just had a few questions regarding these tyres. I realise that Anees has now discovered that his problem may be something other than tyre related, but still there were issues raised which got me a little concerned. Basically as you know I've had Eagle F1As on 18" alloys for a while now (around a year I guess) and I still think they're great. In every area they have been a vast improvement, grip, handling and road noise but then I was reading that plenty of cars have been having serious problems with them. The most worrying part was that Dazz who has the same car on the same wheels was having the same problems - what I wanted to know is that is this an issue with batches of tyres which may not be perfect, or is there an inherent problem with the tyre which may also develop on my car too over time? Is there any feedback from goodyear about this?
  7. Good question, at first it confused me too but I'm guessing the cameraman is a lot further back than it appears and is just zoomed in.
  8. I don't get it, I'm probably going to the only one but I don't actually think it looks better when the rim protrudes from the tyre It looks like it doesn't fit, which is precisely what it is! Plus yes it must be incredibly dangerous, I'm surprised the tyre even stays there in the first place........ What exactly is the appeal?
  9. Holy c**p that was close, love how he calmly then goes on to take a photo
  10. Haha, the look on his face must have been priceless!
  11. So what kind of tyres are we talking about? Are these special tyres that would be banned, or normal tyres that we could have on our cars now?
  12. Lol, my bad, read that as 9th January
  13. This sounds awesome but I'm not sure I'm going to be in the country on that day
  14. That's a brilliant idea, get it up and running! Really? All the reviews rate the R8 quite highly...........
  15. Thanks for the replies, not sure when I'll have time but I'll try to get this checked out soon and report back when I have an answer
  16. Without sounding too stupid, what exactly is disc run out, and is this potentially a problem given that I'm on brand new discs?
  17. Nope there's nothing on engine braking, just when on the brake pedal. Yep that's a new problem that's only just come about, so not really sure what could be causing it. I think I'll have to bring it in at some point and if it's ok ask you to have a drive and see if you can figure out what the cause is because you'll probably be a much better judge of how it feels than I am I'm not really sure, also not really sure where to take it other than Lexus, and I'm afraid to do that without knowing what the problem is as they'll most likely start replacing lots of expensive parts and it still may not fix anything
  18. Hmmm, this may be a possibility then. Don't have a lot of time at the mo but will have to get that checked out at some point. Gave the car a good drive earlier today and the behaviour is a little different now (after the geo and new brakes). Firstly there's an odd vibration on acceleration between about 40 and 60mph, not while cruising, just on acceleration. Also the brake judder seems to be much worse when going downhill - not sure if that's relevant in any way but thought I'd mention it in case it is.
  19. Sorry should have explained better, the vibration is through the steering wheel not the pedal - it's been something that has been bugging me for quite a while now and I was really hoping that the new pads and discs would get rid of it
  20. I've posted this on LOC to get pointers too but thought Tony may have a good idea too After the pads and discs were changed last week (and the geo) the brake judder I had is still there Do you know what else could be causing it? I've had the same judder when I was on 17s, now on 18s, with the old brakes and now the new brakes so I've ruled out wheel balancing and warped discs............
  21. No it's true, my brother once had a blowout in his Z4 and other than the loud pop and the warning light, there really was no other indication that a tyre had gone. Only if you're driving pretty hard does it become apparent, and even then it's not obvious (great piece of tech from that perspective) That tyre looks completely worn out though is it really flat or has it just worn right the way through?
  22. Wow, that is some serious modding - have you got any figures (0-60 etc)? Must be mental, as long as it can actually put all that power down...............
  23. I don't know a lot about engines, but the engine that I need to have at some point is the 6.2V8 in the current crop of AMG cars - the sound is indescribable
