Toe and 'Drift'

Much argument has evolved from this topic.. should the wheels be toe'd in or out for the best drift response?

Not front............ rear.

Debate is this....

1: If the rear toe is set negative (out) then during drift three wheels will own the desired direction.

2: If the rear toe is set positive (in) then during weight transfer the outer rear wheel could steer and compliment the drift.

What do you think?

From what I have read most drift cars seem to run with toe in :D

Indeed at the front this makes sense, but the rear should desire 'over steer' so during weight transfer and drift 'toe out' seems wise... maybe?

I know a few people on both Driftworks and SXOC who are into Drifting, from speaking to them i would vote for Toe out as it would make the car more responsive to turn in and direction change.

This is how i understand it, but admitedly my knowledge is limited, i have tryed drifting a couple of times and have been told for a beginer i am quite good, however i am held back on holding the drift for any length of time by my Diff, but that is another discussion. ;)

Maybe driver preference is the only real answer here. Toe out front activates toot.... Toe in rear activates over-steer.... Mechanical Engineers will argue the disparity until a fight brakes out....By default this seems to be the most common configuration... but not necessarily the right configuration
