  1. Tony, in your posts you mention the car's parallelograms and how alignment will affect them. Can you explain where the parallelograms are formed, between all 4 wheels, between upper and lower wishbones? Thanks h
  2. Yes, great day, nice bit of kit the dyno, thanks to TDI for organising, especially Dennis at the coal face as it were, Sean and Mark. Thanks to the Lexus OC for letting me infiltrate with my 5 and produce the lowest BHP of the day! h
  3. Not quiet the same sound but may be linked. When I drove over a bump with the NSR tyre there was a rattling sound which I thought was tools in the boot rattling. It turned out to be that when I had new shock fitted, the piston was nof fully extended before fitting the springs, top mount and adjusting the spring seat up. This effectively meant that when the shock was unloaded the spring was not retained by the top mount and spring perch and rattled about! You could check for this by jacking that corner up and getting the suspension to droop to it's lowest, and then check for spring movement. You can also check for a broken spring this way, as it may not be apparent when the suspension is under load. hth h
  4. I shouldn't think anyone would mind at all Plus it would give me someone to 'Roadster talk' with and convince you that you definately need to swap it for a Lex Edit, double post h
  5. I shouldn't think anyone would mind at all Plus it would give me someone to 'Roadster talk' with and convince you that you definately need to swap it for a Lex Janey, you will have bit of an uphill struggle there. Love my little Lexie. (Name based on the reg. LEX. It confused Tony also!) h
  6. There is something to be said for 'older' engines. The MX5 mk1 and 2 use a belt, and the engine is non interference if it goes. (Only problem would be where it goes! Pulling out of a junction anyone!) Also easy to replace yourself, if not around £150 to do. Interesting thing is that Mazda have several different specified times to change them, in the UK IIRC it's 54k miles, California it's 100k. California legislation states the cam belt must last that long, therefore the change interval is increased for California! Same belt though! h
  7. Tony, this may be of interest. http://www.autospeed.com/cms/A_109105/article.html h
