  1. Pleased to see its coming along nicely now, at long last - looks massively different to when I was there about 3 weeks ago... Let me know when you can squeeze my blue tractor in - you remember the one, it had some very suspect geo issues , though thanks to your help, it made its trip up north and back without any worries (except the dipstick tube falling off, and leaving a nice slick behind, but that another issue )

Do you know what is adjustable on Rover 25 from geo viewpoint?

The Audi will join the queue - both my Omegas need a trip down when I get time (I shall wait until the new centre is operational)

Are there many geometry settings on these cars - its the estate version? Tyre wear looks fine, and car drives OK (now we've changed most of the suspension components), but, due to the work we've done, wondered if it was worth bringing down at some point?

    Geometry costs

As you say the fee for selective clubs is locked at one hour £85+vat maximum. Quite a generous offer for the Omega since unlocking the rear adjusters can take an hour . wim's tyre prices are below profitable on-line sales companies like Black circles. So if new shoes are needed the opportunity to supply and calibrate at the same time is available. Great news that you remain very competitive still :oneeyed01: You're right about those rear adjusters - but I always go soft on you and put penetrating oil on a few times before visiting :king_right: WD40 is a must.... Whatever the fee remains the same.... Can i ask a favor? this link http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/ could be very valuable to your members since the site independently morphs as the reviews are implanted impartially. Fascinating live concept in my opinion. Can you add this link to your club :ph34r_anim: No probs - I have put a post up on our site. If members say it is useful, it will get added to a list of useful, related sites

With the new setup, are you still supplying tyres, and are you able to compete pricewise?

For the clubs that support wim the fee is locked a one hour at £85 +vat. This is assuming all five angles need correcting. If the job takes longer the fee is the same. This is for domestic cars only. Can you also note that as of next week i am locating to a new centre. The details are in wim-web under contacts. Thank you for inviting this topic. Thanks Tony. So, for OmegaOwners members, worse case scenario will be £85 + VAT, and maybe less in the (unlikely on Omegas!) case that it needs less adjustments and time? I had noticed that you were now Hemel Hempstead, as I was showing a Vauxhall Zafira owner from Luton your site (he seems to be wearing outside edge of fronts)...

Probably one for Tony... As you know, I run a site for Omegas. Frequently get asked costs for geometry, which I know varies with what needs adjusting. Are you able to give a best/worse/average that I can say when people ask?
  10. I feel the Michelins are too hard, and don't seem to wear quickly enough, leaving almost a glaze on the tyre, and suspect grip. I have also had to change them before worn due to cracking.
  11. Mrs TheBoy's little Rover 25 I think has a problem. Steering wheel offline, and high (but even) wear on the fronts. Generally, I am happy with the handling, and the (until recently) tyre wear, which has been even across the tyre. Should I take it to a local tyre place for cheapo tracking/4 wheel alignment, or should I get a proper geometry check done?
  12. I think different tyres suit different cars. My Omega MV6, for example, seems to like Dunlop SP9000 (got some 9090 on rear at present, too new to give opinion). Size is 235/45ZR17 The little Rover 25 seems happiest on Pirelli P6000 - a tyre that I have hated on other cars. It dislikes GY NCTs, which worked well on a previous Rover. I think, find a quality tyre you like on a particular car, and stick with it....
