  1. Yes they are genuine mate, not sure on the offset for the 16's it didn't appear to say on them!

I spoke with Kauzydog and Sisson and they said that the Eibachs have helped their handling, infact I bought these wheels off Sisson!

Sisson has the same motor as you if I'm right? Did he lower his the same amount as yours?

This really is strange though!

  2. Not sure if this means anything but there were some markings on the inside of the alloys.

    ET 52.5 and 16h2 1s,7j-ba on the other :S

Edit: Can't I just go back to the alignment centre and ask them to put more positive/negative camber on?

Offset is 52.5, the width of the rim is 7"

You can't adjust the camber on the mondeo.

I still think you need to lower your tyre pressures abit from your other thread on MEG.

  3. As I've said on MEG, go to the garage cos you've started rounding the nuts off. If they round off completely you will need to hammer a smaller socket on it.

For future reference, when you've had a wheel put on by a garage that use air guns undo the nuts and re-torque as soon as you get home. Should be around 85Nm :thumbsup_anim:

  4. That is a cracking bit of knowledge that :D

Sure is and it's one of the first things I mention to members on MEG now when they complain about drifting/pulling.

Unfortunately I've noticed that alot of garages don't seem to understand what they're for or how to use them, even online tyre sellers have sent me tyres with the band on the same side! :thumbsup_anim:

  5. I assume thats that the white lines are! I'm just wondering if spacers would improve my SR!

Just looked on the other thread, they're for the wheel.

If you put spacers on won't you risk the tyres catching on the arch lip, especially with 225?

I've looked at the camber kits and it doesn't say they won't fit a MK3. Are the top mounts the same as the MK2 as that's what they replace?

  6. I *think* I understand what your saying, guess I'll be hanging round this place a bit more as I have a lot to learn!

Don't we all mate, I get the gist of it but TBH alot of it takes me ages to absorb and actually understand what's being explained.

In the above pic Tony, the white lines, do they represent the wheel/tyre?

  7. Yep working ok :thumbsup_anim:

On MEG, there is a 'multimedia' section in the main forum, you need to be registered to see it.

Tony and Jammy will know what I'm on about, but you can post your photos in there or link from the gallery, i.e. the link at the top. MEG also has a gallery as above but with the multimedia section as well I think it will get more people to look at it...just an idea.

    Like this...

  8. To start with I can't even access it now, says I don't have permission, either through the gallery link or my albums

Also is it possible to incorporate it in the main forum as the only visual link is the gallery button up the top and I don't think it's getting used as much as it could. Just a thought!

  9. Those cars that have A/C is it possible to have a separate tank to hold/divert cold air to feed the intake.

there was a post askin that on MEG and the conclusion was that though it may work A/C will drain power so technically what it gaind by this would be counteracted by usin the A/C.but on a vayron has bunccle's of power so may not notice the A/C anyway

Yeah I read that, was interesting...

  10. I've got next week off work so anytime really. Was hoping to book the car into Kip's for the MOT next week as well if I get the repairs done this weekend.

When you last set the car it was on the 16" wheels, could changing to the 17's have upset it a little? When you do a geometry you always input the wheel size into the computer so this must play some part in the calibration?

  11. :D That's some way to travel!! How much would that have cost in fuel!!!

I always thought that doing any kind of suspension work would change the work that had been done, even if it was only mimimal.

But as a garage is doing the work they're obliged to check the geometry afterwards aren't they? Especially a main dealer... :P

Plus he now has a hard copy from our print-out for them to return the chassis to.

Don't main dealers get funny about using settings that aren't their own though?
