  1. Sounds good, got to be better than trying to puncture the tyres!

They have no option since the advent of the RFT.

Yeah but wouldn't they will use it all cars, regardless of what tyres they use, as it will be a safer way of stopping them?

  2. Problem you have now is no cars run this size of tyre now.

If you don't have them in the lot you bought can you get them in?

Yeah but they won't be cheap.... Maybe consider changing to a different size?

They're the same size as what I had fitted at Kip's, 40 quid a tyre if I remember right.

What size could I have then that will be roughly the same aspect ratio?

  3. Cheers...I'll keep me fingers crossed then! ;)

    And toes........... 175/60-13 :graduated:

He couldn't have something easy like 155-13..... Oh no he has to get one of the rarest 13" tyre ever made.....

Oh! oh!! you still reading this.....

    ;) Don't blame me, blame Peugeot! ;)

I need to replace the tyre that had cracked on the inner wall...no one has part worns in that size!

  4. Great thread Tony that will answer a few questions

Regarding the speed humps though, if you drive too fast over them surely this can do something to the geometry or would it just knacker the suspension out?

You would need to be going "stupid fast" to hurt the suspension..... You think about the length of the coils compression and the fact this would need to be fully compressed before the chassis is damaged.

I've always driven over speed humps slowly for fear of damaging the suspension or knocking the alignment out....so you're saying I don't need to do this?

You mention coils, what about those cars that don't use them on the rear? I know someone who had broken a rear shock on a renault driving over humps.

  5. So in wet weather the tyres would not work like they're suppose to...so could be dangerous to drive on?

If this was a fault of a garage and the owner was oblivious to the fact the tyres had been fitted incorrectly and they had an accident, do you think the insurance company could refuse to pay out? That's if they spot them.

I always thought that regardless of whether the owner knows that something has been fitted correctly or not, it's their car so they should make sure it's roadworthy and legal at all times.

  6. Dunlop have seen this thread and asked Mr Live wire for the tyres and they will refund him all expenses? I have no idea why since Dunlop were never to blame, although this image of their tyres is not good for business.

Maybe they didn't want him to be out of pocket...very noble of them I'd say :P
