Nope, standard coil springs. With the high corner loads they tend to run springs in upwards 1500lbs or more depending on the track, cannot remember the exact number so the suspension doesn't move too much. THey are allowed a total of 3.5 inches of travel last I heard. A normal road car uses around 100-200 lbs depending on the car. They need to run them low to keep the air out from underneath the cars. The exact springrate is complicated, sometimes they will actually bind the spring up and ride on the bump stop which dramatically increases springrates.

So I guess you're right, as my 5 litre IS-F doesn't fall into any of those categories =) I wouldn't consider the IS-F a musclecar a good sport tourer =) Though the 'musclecars' today ride pretty good and have fully independent suspension. Buddy back stateside has a 2006 SRT8 Charger. For it's weight it turns pretty good, not as good as a lighter car, but still. On the other hand my Cousins 99 Z28 is like trying to decide when the you are going to get the best drift score! Same with my other cousins 79 Firebird with the 400BB, though at least she has no illusions that her car drives like a boat =)

My V8 is RHD and 0.3 seconds quicker than even the Supercharged VXR to 62 mph (VXR 500 0-60mph in 4.9 secs). Just 'cause' it's a V8 doesn't mean it's a musclecar =P What do you have? I do like the Supra's. Never liked the insurance rates, but that shouldn't be a problem for you =) I nearly bought a TT before I settled on the SRT. You looking to be 'unique' or just a fun driving experience?

Yep, sounds about right. I have a person at work with one they ended up selling because they couldn't keep it fueled, they were lucky to get 20mpg. Major maintenance is usually needed a lot sooner than piston engines too. I'm sure how it was driven makes a difference, but it's still not good considering. They are really good for wear supposedly if you are religious with the warm up and cool down cycles and keep fresh oil in it. But I don't know many people that would do this, especially the warm-ups and cool-downs.

Could always go Cossy? Going with force fed, and an engine that can handle high BHP limits your playing field IMO =) Rex? Evo? STi? Would say my car, but high power FWD isn't something I would wish on people. Cheap to run though and insure. Could always go with a supercharged Monaro =) You looking for something you can 'mod' up to high power, or something that comes with high power?

Monaro is about the only 'Musclecar' you can get that is RHD. After driving LHD though for the last 5 years it's not hard, but the bigger the car the harder it is to see if you feel the need to pass.

http://www.modernper...rt4_electronics It's discontinued now, but basically it's like a code reader you are looking at, BUT can adjust fueling/spark/boost parameters for the engine at different RPMS. In my case I can change for every 1k rpms. I can adjust speed limiter/redline and when the fans come on too. What you can do with them is get a 'CMR' dealer to totally remap the car to new components, mainly around the fuelling parameters. Nankang SV2 snow 205/50 R17 93V XL (Wi). At the time I was limited by the OEM strut perches + a cheap set of 17's a moving fellow SRTer decided to offload to me before he PCS'd. If I had to do it over I would stick with 16's and get a 60 series tyre with a 195/185 and turn the torque down by limiting low RPM boost. Which tyres do you use?

Another oil change done with a new K&N filter from Opie Oils and switched back to Motul 300v New foglights were put in, just waiting on the headlights. After the DSP my MPG has gone up. Running without the DSP changed how I drive. Was struggling with MPG so I took the MPG savings adjuster to a new level. It was pure agony, but I can say I can do it. Whether I continue driving with a super light right foot will remain to be seen though. It's a real effort to stay in the vaccum and shift at 1500-1700... The car is happy with it, just my foot tends to itch! Now with the DSP back in the effort can be seen with a 34.1 and 33.8 on the last two tanks Carbon syncro's and new 3rd gear will be ordered for my XMas present here in the next few weeks, still waiting on the Group Buy. Have a guy at work that does detailing, says he will get 90% of my scratches out for £120 and a 10 hour job. Still need to get my bumper fixed and sills pulled. I bought a 1.5tonne jack off fleabay for £80, so far so good! No more sill damage for me =) The paintwork and bodywork is on the backburner, very low priority for me, as always. Would rather have the mechanical side right first. Next up is new pads in the front again, and putting on my winter tyres. In 3+ inches they don't make much of a difference, but when it's near freezing, and the roads are wet there is a big difference and considering I am on the road at 0500 every morning this cold weather usability is important!
