  1. what is stretch? - "stretch" refers to stretching a narrower tire over a wider wheel, the sidewalls stretch from the lip to the tread why do stretched tires? - well the whole thing started in germany/belgium, local laws required that the tire tread be within the fender line. well that doesnt allow one to run wider or lower offset wheels, so they put narrower tires on the wheel to maintain legality - when you would like to run really wide or low offset wheels and keep the tire tread at the fender - when you would like to go really low and not rub isnt this unsafe? - there hasnt been any soild evidence that running a stretched tire is any more dangerous than a regular tire. -- I did it on my Altezza, minimal loss on handling side, but allows for more agressive offset as i am able to push the wheels out further (215s on an 8, 235s on a 9.5 <was going to go 225s) example there.. This imo is when its taking it too far
  2. Yes Mark, i've been wanting to change the car for a while now. But with car being complete its at its prime, so i'm happy to sell it. I have shortlist of cars, but i won't be getting a toy for a while, will be concentrating my efforts around my business of car audio, so will be building a noisy beast next But yes, its a very special car to me as i done majority of the work myself. Will be sad to see it go but happy it came out so well.
  3. Thanks to Mac and Sam for clearing that up. Yes Noel. about time! I'm loving it. Car will be For Sale in next few weeks though, time to move on
  4. Apexi Power FC. Its a complete standalone ECU replacement. Fantastic piece of kit, one of the must have mods for Altezza owners IMO
  5. Went to Thor Racing yesterday to have my Power FC installed and mapped. Very suprising results, she did 262hp at the rear wheels, around 310HP. Thats using Stock internals and even more suprising stock fueling! Does lean out @ 7000rpm. Larger injectors i have weren't installed at the time, due to previous technical complications, but never the less, i'm very happy with the result. The first Altezza over 300HP in the UK with stock intenals? BTW, Thor have Janspeeds wide body 50billion point roll cage Altezza race car.. and some half dozen 3S-GE motors, complete with there own developed pistons. rods. crank. for high or low comp design.. There going to do some very very cool stuff for the Altezza engine.... probably the UKs first 500rwhp+ engine i think is on the horizons. There very very clued up people, can't recommend them enough, superb customer service top guys Cheers.

Ahhh but stroke of the damper can be altered on the Apexi... MacRs200 tinkered - http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...topic=25192&hl=

Its really odd why Fargo and yourself had the knocking (yours are fargos ones iirc?) I've been in Fargos car with the Apexi's and yes i heard the knocking, but the quality i felt was very good, although his ride height was maybe -45mm lower than std. Mine have been great, i only got knocking on the rear with no weight, add some weight and its vanished The Kits are spec'd for Altezza's not the IS300 from my memory (i originally imported 5 sets of these on LOC few yrs back)
  10. That was 1/2 days work? Pretty standard price really... Mapping is darn expensive, but the drive home is memorable usually as you already mentioned

    Tyres

www.tyretraders.com and www.johnsontyres.com I've used johnsons and there price was unbeatable for my 19s.... unless i went over to US!
  12. Thats it! How much did the mapping cost btw?
  13. I bet you can't wait Don't know IS200 limit, but i'd not go too close to the limit unless u have a boost controller u can step down when your driving normally (who does that? haha) Look fwd to the results
