  1. Well the VR6 has now gone so it was time to get a new daily driver. Very different from the VR but fancied something a little bigger and a bit more luxury. Purchased this today 125k miles with good history. Was previously owned by an audio business so its a little kitted out with some audio bits, remote start, eibach pro springs etc. Obviously its crying out for a good detail
  2. Passenger door Once all polishing was complete, paintwork was wiped down with IPA to remove any remaining polishing oils. Lime Prime Lite glaze/pre-wax cleanser was applied by hand and was then sealed with Collinite giving the owner a great base for future product application. All glass was polished inside and out. The interior was hoovered, dusted and cleaned with APC. The exhaust was polished. Tyres dressed with Endurance Gel. Aerospace 303 was used to dress all rubbers and plastics in the engine bay. These were the final pictures
  3. A few shots whilst inspecting paintwork under halogen lighting Using the Makita rotary, 3m polishing pad and backing plate and a mix of Meguiars #80 and #83 polish
  4. Bilberry was used on the BBS alloys and APC on the tyres The vehicle was jet washed and snow foamed It was then washed using the 2 bucket method with Shampoo Plus, dried and taken inside to be inspected and have the paint depths measured prior to machining
  5. To start off the engine bay was degreased using APC and a selection of brushes APC was then used to cleanse the fuel cap, window rubbers, mirrors, scuttle panel, lights, badges, door and boot shuts
  6. Hi, here we have Greg's Twin Turbo Supra that came to Invisible Touch Detailing in preperation for Dragonball 2013. The vehicle was to receive a stage 1 paint enhancement and engine bay detail. This was the car on arrival...
  7. Lol interesting topic Whenever i look at websites i hate it when prices are not displayed. With this in mind, i wanted my site to at least give an aproximate guide. As said above it is very difficult with this type of business to cover all areas as there are so many variables. I feel 1 of the largest differences in services once machine polishing is involved, is whether paintwork requires far more compounding and refining, stage 2 - being machine polished twice with different products and pads. Or a single polish with a less abbrasive compound and pad that can be worked and refined in one go. Both of these requiring very different amounts of work, and caution. I can rarely see a customers vehicle prior to pricing it, which again is understandable, as they will want to have a good idea before booking in. This requires some trust in how the vehicle is described. As a general rule this works ok, but there are exceptions Any of the many extras, will also alter prices. Detailing is certainly a profession where prices can vary hugely. It is also an extremely demanding job, and certainly keeps me on my toes Hope this sort of helps.
  8. Alloys sealed with wheel sealant The glass was polished. External plastics treated. Interior hoovered and dusted, plastics and seats cleaned with APC, leather conditioned with Gliptone Liquid Leather These were the final pictures
  9. Changing to a smaller 3M spot pad and backing plate for the tighter areas around the rear plate Once polishing was complete, the paintwork was cleansed with Swissvax Cleaner Fluid and protected with Swissvax Best of Show The exhausts were polished Tyres treated with Endurance gel
  10. The polishing process was completed with a Makita rotary, Meguiars polishing, #80 polish with a small amount of #83 for a little more bite. Which left this Paint defects by camera flash before and after Continuing around the vehicle
  11. Hi, here we have an Audi S5 Cabriolet that arrived for a stage 1 paint enhancement. No pictures of the cleaning process as it was very wet outside! The process was to clean the alloys using Bilberry and a selection of brushes, APC for the tyres. The vehicle was then jetwashed and snowfoamed. All door/boot shuts, fuel cap, window seals etc were cleaned with APC. It was then washed using Meguiars Shampoo Plus via the 2 bucket method. The paintwork was then clayed to remove bonded contamination and washed again. The vehicle then came inside to be dried. The paintwork was then inspected under halogen and led lighting Multiple paint thickness readings were taken per panel
  12. Cheers guys. I love working on TVR's Tony, pleasure to work on. The paint on this one is lovely I decided not to sell last year Rich, i enjoy the car too much come summer time. It is on ebay now, i wouldnt mind another toy for this year. If it sells it sells, if it doesnt i would happily keep hold of it and enjoy some more road trips this year. The car has never let me down and has always been great. I know TVR's have a bad name, but if you look after them. No other car i have owned, puts a smile on your face everytime its started up like this The car is a 98, facelift version, but as you say it doesnt show its age
  13. The TVR had some much needed tlc after being stored during winter over the w'end. Real shame the sun was not out as the pics just dont do it justice but thought i would share anyway The car is possibly up for sale, but really not sure after doing this, especially with summer on its way
  14. I agree Tony, but theres something telling me it may become annoying for the road, let alone the safety issue
  15. Your joking arent you? feels like its gona take forever! Its not often i get the chance to do some work on it, its normally spent on other peoples Next up is going to be finishing any rust and welding issues. I also need to get the cage into work to start test fitting. Lately i have even been considering not using the cage. I'll most likely only use it 4 or 5 times a year on track, the rest will be for some fun on the road. Not bold over with having it caged on the road, although it would add a finished touch and be safer for track. What do you think?
  16. The welded tabs are just for camber and toe, if thats what you mean Tony?
  17. I think it would just be the pick up points Tony? I cant claim i totally understand, but everything seems to be fine. Few pics from the last couple of days work... Lemforder control arms with new ball joints and M3 eccentric bushes Subframe with drums replaced. New subframe bushes, powerflex control arm bushes, welded tabs to offer toe and camber adjustment, Pagid discs and new disc shields, Greenstuff pads (as they came with the other car and were in good condition), rebuilt S 4.10 LSD with new bush, Eibach anti-roll bar, handbrake cables run through the car and everything freshly painted
  18. Cheers Tony Well what a day! The new backend has been built on the floor, this took a while on its own. The welded tabs on the subframe seem to offer some good adjustment and trailing arms appear to be moving freely with the powerflex bushes which is great. Hours, have been spent this afternoon and evening removing the old backend from the car, the main subframe bushes that attach to the chassis were absolutely welded on. We have some fantastic equipment on hand but even then it was still a pig of a job! But, it is now off. Tomorrow the new bits will go up. No pics yet as i just didnt have time, just imagine a rusty subframe, trailing arms, diff, grotty drum brakes with knackered bushes everywhere sitting on the floor. Will update again tomorrow
  19. Few more parts sorted for this lately. I now have some of the handbrake components that i need, can sort the rest of these at a later date. E30 M3 eccentric front control arm bushes arrived and have been fitted to the 'lollipops', which have also been painted black. These bushes are far more substantial than the normal e30 bushes and brings the wishbone out and the wheel forward for better geometry options. New Lemforder front control arms complete with new ball joints, also painted black. New rear disc shields as mine have rusted to hell An uprated/stiffer Eiback anti roll bar for the rear has been freshly painted red, the drop links for this painted silver, the bushes were already very good in these and the roll bar came with polybushes. And finally new OEM rear discs with black painted calipers. Black wasnt my first choice to paint these, but the front brakes i will be fitting only come in black. They will at least match the cars 'theme' Will be a big task to get it all changed over tomorrow and one i have been looking forward to seeing. Should make a big difference with all the bushes replaced and with all freshly painted bits. At least it will look good if it ends up on its roof on track Pics to follow....
  20. You certainly can Z8 is a lovely product, just make sure it is applied 1 panel at a time and buffed well, even go back once the whole car is complete and buff again
