  1. Bloody hell chaps, crazy read... I guess the siezed rear cambers you had on mine were a walk in the park then Tony !
  2. More PSI would stiffen the tyrewall to make it less prone to roll over. Once it rolls over then steering becomes very... interesting What is the normal pressure for you? h 32PSI, these blighters are dam sensitive to tyre pressure and with these tyres 32psi is what everyone runs regardless of situation
  3. surely more PSI = more heat = looses grip quicker? I'm already running 32PSI!
  4. Yep, a photographer was there taking some snaps, picture of me taking a corner with the base of the tyre gripping the road, but the wheel almost rolling over it !
  5. any reply yet Tony? more vids to come hopefully tonight!
  6. Please wait a few moments for Video to Load! At last !! First of many, but worth a watch all the same. Key thing to note Tony is my steering inputs, the back feels incredible now !
  7. Fair point ! I try not to think about the cost though.... I certainly wasn't thinking about it today when we were whizzing round the track ! My big issues of the day were brakes overheating (Beyond a joke now) and the tyres overheating and running out of grip. Plan is to get a brake duct kit to solve the brakes issue, and then look at my tyre options. In honesty thought I'm restrained by budget for now
  8. Hi All, Not posted for a while, but just for clarity for those that don't know, Tony has done a significant amount of work on my s2000 to try and help me extract the best from it. In summary, handling wise the car has Cusco Front ARB (32MM) Cusco Rear ARB (30MM) Cusco Front lower brace Cusco Rear Lower Brace Cusco Front Upper Brace Mugen Caster Bushes Powerflex Purple Polybushes on all other points Tein S-Tech Springs and most importantly..... literally hours of Tony tweaking the car to my liking ! Recently Tony made some adjustments for a trackday I had at Cadwell Park (Back in February) but sadly the day was cancelled due to snow. I rebooked today at Woodbridge as an opportunity to give the settings a go ! Overall, the car is a totally different beast now. Yes, I did spin off twice, but both totally down to driver error carrying in far too much speed to the corners (confidence was that high ) with tyres that were really struggling after 2-3 laps (Bridgestone Potenza RE050a's) For a lot of the day I had a friend of mine Nick passengering with me. His summary was that I basically spent the day going sideways but in total control of everything... In honesty, it was the geometry holding the car together, even beyond the limit ! Videos are just processing on my Mac now, I'll have them updated and linked from here shortly. Basically, see this thread as a bloody great big thank you Tony !
  9. quite. I've had 'good' news from Javelin (Trackday organisers) and Competition Car Insurance (insurance company for car cover on the day) Javelin will give me any day up to the value of 150 (this event cost 100) in the next 6 months or a full refund. I'll go for the former as then its almost like 50 pounds for goodwill to cover the hotel and fuel costs... Competition car insurance are willing to swap the cover to this new day for free also so its win win. So, I'll get to try it out then ! Only a small bit of feedback at the moment. It could be that I was more aware of rear grip and the like, but the front felt VERY slightly understeerish ... no understeer, just felt loose. I'll see how we get on though as this is how its felt before with low tyre pressures....
  10. I could have been incredibly unlucky, but I have had no joy with this at all. 4000 miles and the discs and pads are ruined. Stock Honda items have lasted much better infact. I managed 1 trackday, and quite literally on the 2nd corner of the warmup lap I had bad vibration. This got steadily worse as the day went on and got to the point whereby it just became undriveable. As such, I've just put 'standard' steel discs on there (Brakes International, S2KUK sponsor) and I'll swap out the pads for some sort of EBC compound when I get 5 minutes. Probably yellowstuff, maybe redstuff. Personally I'd stay stock, and use RBF600 brake fluid and get the 'lower brake master cylinder brace' and maybe if your feeling flush some braided lines (bare in mind stock S2000 kit is already fibre reinforced) So... I'd not recommend any part of the setup i'm afraid.
  11. on the upside the sticker went on the dash really well tony !
  12. HOME! got back about 10 minutes ago, so about 8 hours to do the distance. lovely. Icing on the cake? when someone sat in my boot to give me traction to get up the hills to get to main roads they split open my 4 litre container of castrol edge, it was full, it now isnt.. and I have a pool in my boot. Great.
  13. Nightmare ! Trackday snowed off, front tow eye snapped in half by tractor pulling us up the hill out of the circuit complex and 3 hours to do 15 miles. Just stopped somewhere random to eat neal Lincoln... Home by midnight will be a success :-/
  14. I checked, 310 quid the discs cost :-/ Joe said these pads are past their prime.... I'll see how tomorrow goes! Really appreciate you guys sorting the car out, much appreciated
  15. Will do, the plan is to build up gradually and see where we get to. The brakes seem ok so far, so angry about those discs !
  16. Just got to Cadwell Park ready for tomorrow.... Tony and the guys squeezed me in and did new front discs, new fluid, and then the geo work. Car feels great now at the back and has lost what I'd describe as 'float' ... no squirm as yet, but obviously couldnt push too hard Will see what tomorrow brings, but feeling good so far !
  17. Smooth is fast my man Ive got video ready for Cadwell, If the weather holds out (at one point there was a 75% chance of snow !) I'm confident I'll get some good laps in
  18. absolutely no problem at all, I'll happily take you out in the car. If I end up down at WIM on Saturday please feel free to come down for a peek Tony has worked what I'll carefully describe as miracles with the car. I'm chuffed to bits to have got in touch with him on the off chance for a cheaper clutch change and wish id been there sooner.
  19. Tony, I'll drop you an e-mail now, but yes, whenever !
  20. Thanks for your reply Tony, really appreciate the assistance. Gutted your not able to squeeze me in on Saturday, I'm off to Cadwell for a trackday on Sunday and it would have been bloody perfect ! Out of interest do you have any WIM numberplates and/or stickers (Sticker to put on the dash) so for any pictures and my videos on the tube you get some publicity?
  21. Potentially I might nip up to WIM on Saturday (speculative punt at Tony for a favour, further details to follow !) in which case if your in your more than welcome to a poke round the car
  22. congrats I think we spoke breifly at the ferrari day when I pitched up in the s2000 Best of luck with the role, should be great to get another person onboard at WIM
  23. I'm running Powerflex Polybushes all round, so I think thats partially removed... Maybe I need to consider the bumpsteer kits... apparently it seems to work wonders !
  24. Sorry for the late reply mate, not long back from work... Its most noticeable on the long sweeping stuff. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xsbr9SB5hn0 If you watch the above from 6:30 you'll see the go far right, cut straight, go right and position to the left for a sweeping right hander. From about 7:01 to 7:04 would be when it was worse. Poor video to show you as thats a crap line through the corner, but thats the corner ! Hope this helps
