  1. Rather than start another thread I'll add my thanks here as it's another MX5. I did the 130mile round trip to WIM today to have my Eibachs fitted and set up and can say without hesitation it was well worth the effort, thanks guys. I've only had my ragtop Sport since the 31st Dec so I hadnt had much time experiencing the 'before' characteristics but as I said to Tony today, it did feel nervous at the back. Over the last couple of days I've driven down the same bit of road a few times, for no particular reason other than it was the way I went, but it has a series of small roundabouts and a couple of road surfaces, which seemed to give a variety of handling experiences. The biggest issue I had was not the nervous nature, even at nice shiny new toy play gently speeds, but the fact that the car behaved differently each time on a given bit of road. The first time was after picking the car up and I put the uncertainty of the handling down to a combination of new tyres, unfamiliar car and cold weather. By Sunday I'd run out of excuses and had to hope that the Eibachs, which I had 2 weeks before the car , would help. It's no great surprise that they did. The end result of changing to the lower, and considered correct, springs and having the geometry set up is both subtle and dramatic. Subtle in that its not obviously 'slammed' but looks right (to me, I appreciate others may prefer the higher look) and that I haven't suddenly started losing the space between my vertebrae. What is dramatic however, is the cornering stability. The M25 is hardly the test track of choice so I went back via my 'test road' and was more than happy. I would have been happy simply with consistencies in what was happening underneath me but I'm over the moon with the way the rear now digs in and drives rather than the previous do I? dont I? dance. Now I certainly wasn't driving hard, the car's only 250mile old and its coooldddd out there but the signs are good. Once again, cheers guys. Steve
  2. I imagine that's becoming quite a list now. Unfortunately it's shocking but not overly surprising, when they dont even check tyre pressures on PDI. I picke my car up News Years Eve and checked the pressures the next day, they were all 37psi. Now either they dont check them or they do and think that's correct. Not sure what's worse And to think there is still the general perception that you are better off letting a main dealer carry out work on your car. People still worry about invalidating warranties by letting none franchised engineers do the work, even when they may be far better qualified. I know better and still wondered whether to get the dealer to fit my Eibach springs to save any future agro. Glad I decided not to, see you Tuesday.
  3. Well at least the warranty was intact because the springs were the right colour Truly shocking and certainly confirmed I've made the right decision to buy the springs and let WIM deal.
