  1. I think the technician is looking very friendly with that large wheel. He didn't take it home with him did he
  2. How's this project coming along? Anymore progress?

Thanks Mat. I didn't know that Mark could do the geom. I'll ask him when he gets back. Interested, how have things gone?...... is the car set-up now. Not yet mate.. I'm picking the car up from TDI tomorrow. I've not really had the time to let Mark do it as it goes into the bodyshop on Saturday.. Very tight schedule before JAE.. So I'll probably get it done at STS down the road from me.. I shall indeed be in touch Tony

At tdi what addition to 'Thrust 3' are you adding? Racelogic Traction control with launch control and maybe some other bits.. Another quicky mate. From where shall I measure to get the suspension height?

OK mate. I'll have to do it next week if thats ok though. My car is at TDI at the moment so I can't measure the suspension height.. Is that ok mate?

Yes please Tony that will be most helpful. I probably will use STS as they are only down the road from me. I think I'm long overdue getting my geom done again as the steering tends to feel very light..

I've still not had my geometery redone after having coilovers fitted. My car is too low for the cameras now so unfortunately it can't be done by "the doctor". To those who are also too low for the hanging cameras... Where did you get your geom done? I want to make sure that the place I go to know exactly what they are doing. There is a STS Stapletons in Northampton and they say that they do all full geom with the cameras that fix to the wheel. I'm unsure whether to trust them as they fitted my tyres to my brand new wheels and the wheels were filthy so I dont them to get scratched up.. @ Tony - Do you liase with any of the other STS centres in the country?
  9. Your Geometry has much better balance but....... He has a Panhard you don't yet I actually know of somone who can set the Panhard position to the nearest 1mm..... It's ....Me There's nothing like blowing your own trumpet mate
  10. Tony have a look on TDI website. On the home page it has a link saying Dyno Info. Have a read there mate. It should explain everything Look Here
  11. I'm sure Mark will be able to explain this better.. But here's my little 'knowledge'.... The rolling road is the most less accurate with the readings as there are too many variables involved.. eg tyre pressure, the tyres heating therefore expanding etc. Also I think it uses something like water to cool it. Therefore this will heat up and again will not give an accurate reading. You could put a car on a rolling road for a power run and then do it again an hour later or so and will probably get different results. A dyno pack is a lot more accurate as the hubs are bolted directly to it. Whether it be front / rear or all wheel drive. The power figures are then calculated more accurately. What TDI use is a Rototest. This uses some sort of oil (cant remember what exactly) to cool it. So you should get the same results time and time again. It also measures the power , not calculating it. So it apparently gives around 5% less than a dyno pack. But is the most accurate. All figures are Rear Wheel Horse Power. Or front or all depending obviously on the car (rear wheel drive etc). The flywheel figure is then calculated from the power lost at the hubs through the transmission. Various people do it different ways so is not too accurate. Therefore you cant really compare peoples Bhp figures as they are not done on the same machine and flywheel figures are calculated (Or Guessed) differently... Also they tend to get exaggerated alot..
  12. That pic is shocking. Very lucky to be ok and with the car still in contact driving around with those tyres
  13. Very sad indeed.. I've seen these kits on ebay advertising for a Lexus Why not go the whole hog and get a simulation purge kit fitted too... Everybody will think he's got a turbo and nitrous fitted to his Corsa
  14. Love the Toyos. I have them on my 17's and 18's with no problems at all. Janey / Barrie.... Have a look on ebay as there are a few sellers doing great deals on the Toyos. Especially the older T-1S as they are the older stock. Also with free delivery for 4 tyres:D
  15. I asked about the Avon tyres as I'd heard from somebody that they were great. When I posted about them though everybody slated them.. Looky here
  16. Great write up mate and well done on the work so far. The car looks lovely in the bottom pic. Much better than the first pic
  17. I know absolutely nothing about this But from my understanding you start most of the time with a base map. Then you alter the mapping from there to what modifications the car being mapped has. As its done on a computer / laptop etc, it gives graphs and figures of the different parameters.. fuelling etc. You can then see what needs to be done mapping wise to the car. What needs altering etc. If you get a proper "mapper" in the first place that knows what they are doing, then the map should be conclusive of what your car can handle at that precise stage of tune.. (Non of this probably make sense,, as read mt first statement )
  18. Uprated anti-roll bars are a must IMHO. They make a huge difference to the handling of a car and with that give alot more confidence to the driver. I agree with Barrie that the anti-rolls go hand in hand with coilovers. With one comes the other. A must
  19. Are these the TTE wheels?
  20. Sorted him out on LOC tony What was the verdict? No they're not needed with the TTE wheels. Fitted them tonight and they look wicked
  21. I shall be putting on TTE Chicane alloys and have noticed there are no spigot rings with them. Do I need to get some and if so from where? Guys with the same wheels- -Have you used spigot rings with these wheels? TIA Sorted No Thanks
  22. You'll still need to put the cat back on for MOT time.

I'm running Bridgestone Potenza S03 Pole Position 235/35/18 all around, some slight rubbing at the front on full lock. They come out tops in several tests. Mike, where did you get yours from? I can't find 235/35/18 anywhere. The only ones I've found are Pirelli P ZERO SYSTEM Asimmetrico
