  1. Ha ha! I am victorious!! Went a bought a little plumbers blowtorch and its done the trick. Ive got a slight injury however, i caught my hand slightly with a claw hammer Hope the neighbours didn't hear me swear Molegrips, heat, wd40 and they are free! I feel great, ive now learn't lots with regards to toe in and toe out. I'll be a little sad to see the little starlet go, my first turbo car and its been a pleasure. Just getting on a bit really (15 years old!). On the plus side in looking out for a DC2 Integra Type R Whats your thoughts on them Tony? Ive decided its the perfect car for me!
  2. After having D2 coilovers on my starlet for about a year, I decided to sell them and stick the stock suspension back on. Went for a quick alignment at a local place, and low and behold my bloody track rods are seized! Ive been at it this afternoon and got the locking nuts loose but the threads in the end seem rock solid! Ive got major toe out (from what i recall it said 2' i think.) If i had a little heat they might come loose, but i have nothing. Im thinking its a garage job. Do you think they'll knacker the track rod ends in the process? or should i get 2 new ones? At £20 each side im pretty p**sed off, and wish id kept the coilovers on now :rolleyes_anim: Im selling the starlet in the next month, hence the reason i cant really let it go unnoticed. Had the geo set up by tony in December so they cant have been seized then? Any ideas? Joe
  3. Hi everyone, Thought id make my own little topic so i can keep track of my constantly evolving starlet gt turbo Ive recently converted to coilovers, and this has made such a transformation to the car. I visited Tony in watford on saturday and had the geometry set up as well as having my panhard rod (aka lateral rod) fitted and adjusted to suit. While i was there i had 4 new Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres fitted (why not eh?). I decided to try them as many people recommend them and ive had toyo tyres for a long time. Heres a little print out of my geometry settings: As you can see they are set up for 'fast road'. Ive felt the difference already. Having a straight steering wheel is very nice! The whole car feels nice to drive, smooth and stable. Its completely different to the standard set up, where you are always on edge waiting for the car to bite you back. I am taking the 'twisty' route to work this week, so i can get a little bit more feedback. And im sure Tony has a got something to say regarding my damaged wheel Joe
