Put the N/S/F wheel on the rear to see if the pull changed. Not really is the answer. Also, my car is bloody horribe in a crosswind, albeit strong and in the rain. Felt like the backend was on ice, just waiting to break-away.
  2. No, it's an early version of the F22 Raptor stealth-fighter. As seen in Transformers, IronMan etc
  3. With the early square tail-light clusters. Nice one. Gotta love the citroen cx door mirriors too
  4. hey I just noticed it's a 4 door.

I've seen it on the odd occasion on customer cars. Turns fine but minimal impact on the actual position. I always figured some kind of wear was responsable. Maybe the local bushings ? Or, in my case, a bent trailing arm ?
  6. I so have to get down to a pro drift event. I read about the HKS S15 Silvia a few years ago doing a display support gig. Y'know, drifting the entire length of the brandshatch start/finish straightaway ? How can that not be awesome ?

IIRC yes. Incidentally, OEM rear spoiler (to go with the "six pack" tail lights) and an FJ bonnet are on the want list. Both are made by an S12OC member in fibreglass. Much better than the foam stuff used by Nissan.

hardly a minute of adjustment either way, across the whole diameter of the cam lobe
  9. They reckon stainless braided hoses improve pdal feel because they bulge less. Given the age of an NA MX5 it's probably not a bad idea to replace the hoses anyway. My 89 S12 will get them in due course.

'Think I'll get some EZ bolts for the front so I can have a quick play with some front camber (stage 1, if you will). Any ideas why I couldn't get any movement from the NSR eccentric (toe) ? Think I may have a bent trailing arm ?

    Oh Bugger

A bit of a bonus at Christmas does make you feel appreciated though and makes you forget any misgivings that happened during the year and you start off the new year in good spirit ... maybe that's just me I understand that..... In fast fit you normally have a base target then any money made over that is shared between staff as a bonus, from my experience this invites over selling since the staff have a vested interest "personally". Starvation wages plus a "bonus" top up to a living wage is diabolical in my opinion, obviously staff are going to do what's ever necessary to achieve a living wage "whatever the morality". In wim i hope the staff see a better future with a livable wage now, as we grow they grow as does that wage. That's the answer I was after. So any damages like this tyre get taken out of the bonuses. Too many of these = no bonus? Bit like a rep then, get a basic wage and then commission on top of that. Yeah, though for fitters it's more like "Too many of these = no job" The boss doesn't actually know as he's been off since Thursday. See what he says when I'm back on Tuesday. I'm not in the habit of ripping beads and we've had a couple of good months so he shouldn't be in such a bad mood lol. Maybe.

Latest attempt went fine today. Running overnight on 3 new tyres appears to have triggered the runflat indicator, incidentally. Yeah it's called the Manager's bonus

It has the phunumatic "helper arms" which hold the bead down but it isn't idiot proof. The 225/35s on the front went on with no drama. Essentially the same as this:

Added to favourites! Some very interesting stuff on there.

Well the machine can take up to 21's but certainly that's the hardest I've had so far. Wouldn't mind so much but the rest of the bead had tucked under the wheel, as it should, so I'm not really sure why the arm caught it there. Probably had it set too high.
  16. The hire company, who own the car, were on the phone saying the customer complained the wheel(s) were damaged.....

Are used adjusters a good idea ?

Made a mess of that one didn't I 255/30 19 Bridgestone RFT, incidentally.
  19. One of the other fitters did it as the car was in on my day off.
