Tony that would be fantastic. I'll have to see what the situation is for getting time off at work.
  2. Someone needs serious medical attention..... Is this a road going swamp buggy? I quite like that....

I don't mind the trip if you don't mind giving up your time.

It's rare for a car to leave our place fully sorted. Usually a combination of either no OEM adjustment (KF doesn't "do" aftermarket) or I'm not allowed to take a job to a point where I would believe it to be finished. So it's nice to have a car go out spot-on, even if it's just turning rear eccentrics and front TREs edit; oh and I've been pecking the head of our local Snap-On to source one of those BMW Strut-top camber force adjusters as lifting axle has been unpredictable and takes too long for fast-fit.
  5. perhaps sacrificing some castor inorder to bring in camber adjustment isn't such a bad trade-off ?

Oh right I see now. So on our Omega I should try to imagine all that front camber movement, the car shifting it's weight on the suspension and everything all that entails ? Does a good DI go hand in hand with a high(er) Hzps ?
  7. *buts in* I'd have thought all that front castor would have given a "strong" front end ? *buts out*

Transition.. it's a lovely word. We did a bit about "polar moment of inertia" so this Omega is a good example of how transition needs the suspension to migrate and change the polar moment to oversteer the chassis, this transition is consistent with the cars dynamic index ratio. Maybe i need to pull Sam at TDi's white papers and explain this dynamic indexing? When we talk about transition in what context ?

How about something crazy like a TVR ? I presume they have quite a high Hzps ?
  10. Dude! 2cvs are awesome. Racing versions especially.

Where does the MX5 sit on this scale ?
  13. wow that GTi in the picture must have entered the turn far too fast.
  14. Nah I think he's ok. Just as well as "Plan A" is usually to ship off unwanted staff to other depots amd it's not like DSP600's are common.....
  15. me too. I imagine the RS4 has slightly better brakes though.....

Because the brain of the average driver can't handle more than a couple of decisions a second and, if I recall, average drivers can only respond to certain stimulai where as better drivers can respond to things such as inner ear balance when driving at 10/10ths.
  17. I was backing out of the tyrebay in IIRC an Audi A8. A fairly large limo with air suspension anyway. Looking over my right shoulder positioing the car upagainst the barrier. Kind of like parallel parking, but with the carpark entrance directly behind me. So there's a bump and I 'm thinking I've hit the barrier. It was another Audi, an A4, that had pulled in and stopped at the middle of the entrance of the car park. It was my fault of course, as I had hit him and wasn't looking, but (!) I had no idea why he had stopped there and had simply waited and watched me back into him. Never occured to me there would have been another driver hiding in my blind spot. Anyway, A4 needed a wing, bumper etc. A8 wasn't so much as scratched phew!
  18. Nah. I'll give my boss his due he does his best to "shield" us from upper management when things head south. Did I ever tell you about the time I bumped an Audi(s) in the car park ?

Perhaps how DI and Geometry compliment/dicatate one another ?

Meh, I hate it when unexpected things happen (either good or bad, but more so bad obv.) "It's a long learning curve called "chassis dynamics" that spiders down to a tiny little place called the contact patch." Dude! I didn't know you were a poet ? edit: oh could the wallowy rear end simply be knackered dampners/bushings etc ?

Are we talking in the context of front end turn in ? On that basis, the Omega needs the front camber for turn-in where as the Mx5 can do without due to having an inherinetly more agile chassis ?
  22. lucky me as I didn't fancy another "risky" fit so soon after my Rft fun.

By swapping front wheels left to right shouldn't tne pull have migrated to the right too ?
  24. I'm guessing it pulled to one side but can't decide which way. I'd say the O/S was "stronger" so would it pull that way ? Or to the left because the N/S was "lacking/weaker" ??
