  1. Hi tony, When I was up a couple of weeks ago you were talking about the gaz coilover kit for the s2k. What was approx date on these? Been looking into the tein kit as we spoke about but would rather hold out for the gaz stuff based on stevo's review of the mx5 with them on
  2. Cheers, it's brilliant stuff Just need to work on my spraying technique! I've nearly finished with the gel now, have half a tub left so can you let Tony know if he wants to try it I'll bring it over wow didn't realise you had been doing all this. Thought it was just the one side from what you showed me last week. Couldn't even see that there had been rust on the arch/sill. Tidy job
  3. They are fairly scrubbed but not bad. I think bringing it up would be the best bet and get the chassis checked over. When the diffs were being replaced I am guessing all suspension on the rear would have been off? Just read that, quite interesting but as I said on the night its all done to experience. Andy has years of it in various cars and various drive forms (AWD, RWD, FWD) and still currently races at weekends. Watching his feet and hands when pulling the car straight was like e-honda from street fighter performing a "Hundred Hand Slap" I started catching them in the end but this was dry weather. The car in the wet is another kettle of fish :s
  4. They have a few MM over the wear indicator so will be coming up for new ones soon but what can be done with the chassis? Will parts be needed? Missed my slot for the Geo a couple of weeks ago due to Honda having the car and turns out they done their Geo on it, not sure what was done or where they took it to get it done. To be honest the car does behave normally but in the wet I would say it is suprising, especially at low speed.
  5. Hello chaps, So for the second time since owning the car, I have had my second piece of rear wheel drive action that quite frankly shocked me. Slow speed rear end out, caught but only just. Basically I need more grip, specifically in the wet. The OEM Bridgestone Pot RE050A's are now quite low on the rear and well scrubbed so probably could do with replacement as well within the next 1000 miles. Options... Revised Geo? + New Tyres + ? Any simple mods to make the car more planted? After a recent driver training day I have found the limits of the car and believe the car could vastly benefit from more grip somehow... but not sure how! Perhaps I am being optimistic coming from the STI but there must be a way. Cheers
  6. Nah they aren't that bad. I thought it handled pretty good out of the box, didn't you think so as well rich?!? but It could do with being tamer. The rear kicking out was quite catchable
  7. Hello Buddy - also from the forums but Tony looked after my old Scoob on the Geo side. Now I also have got an S2K and want to get the Geo checked on it as I am sure its probably never been done! Evident by the back side trying to overtake me leaving work last night Will be interested to see what settings you get done and how it pans out after wards Tony - Ill be in touch to get the new car checked and adjusted as required
  8. It's completely different. Subaru has nothing then everything for 3500 revs. The Honda is a bit more driveable and like a normal 2l car until 6000rpm. Then you get all the power on the second cam till jut over 9000rpm. Handling wise the s2000 felt very planted. The subaru more grip but I wouldn't say it handles any worse than the Honda. Maybe on the limit! Time will tell I guess but this one is staying standard!
  9. Indeed it's true. 19k on the clock and one weekend garages owner I couldn't say no to it. Vtec @ 9000rpm with the roof down was something else
  10. Something similar to that would be spot on And yes... now we have a comfy 5 door oil burner for all the long journeys/tip runs/nights out never more of a better time!! 480 miles to 40 litres of diesel, its great!
  11. Its a very good idea however lack of storage means what ever I get next will be my main driver and toy. This happened last year at about the same time... i started looking at elises. I think its the summer that does it. Winter time I was more than happy with mine I used to have a MX5 a few years back (1.8i Sport) which had eibachs and a geo set up done + sticky toyos, and that was brilliant. Problem was I was getting out accelerated by Merc Sprinter vans :s It was like glue round the twisty bits though I could get another and take it up to performance 5 in Pinner... nice greddy turbo converson
  12. It certainly is a fast well planted car now. Recently had all the brakes done to PF Compound stuff, the suspension, the mapping/mods and its all tied in nicely. Thing is - i have my eyes on a S2000 now!! Not sure yet though... I know if I got rid I would miss it like anything! But would love a quick 2 seater.
  13. All sorted now No more vibration! Wheels swapped front to rears. Once you guys get the new alloy wheel fixer upper machine type thing one of them needs looking at which has a bit of a buckle but not enough to make it noticable while the wheel is on the rear.
  14. You guys open this weekend?
  15. More my fault for buying cheap replica PFF7 wheels! And the council's cacky roads dont help round me Will try and get over before the weekend mate
  16. No pics for a blog as it looked busy there the day I was in. Ill make sure I get a Pic up anyway of the aftershot once washed BTW Tony... Need to pop back up. The front is vibrating at "motorway" speeds... might be the issue I had last time if the wheels have been swapped back to front again... (One of the wheels had a slight bump/buckle - manufacture defect...and the chap moved that wheel to the back to elimate the vibration through the front and that cured it as well as the balancing) or its the balancing - again OR its the spigots! Fun eh!
  17. Hi Tony, Handles like its on rails now. Really struggles to lose grip which is brilliant compared to before when i could kick the rear out on a AWD drive car upon request They are definately bumpier than the standard, and probably compares now to the cooper S with runflats we have as well. Not crashy but you can feel pretty much everything. Ill check tyre pressures tomorrow as I had them pumped up due to extra load 2 weeks ago. Saying that though, the car feels tight, its planted of the lights (no nose in the air now) and the general drive is a lot more compliant No knocking which is great!! The many months i put up with the old shocks!! Thanks for your help today, and thank the other guy who done the work... seems like a very knowledgable chap. Dont think I will take the car any lower than it is at current
  18. Can i blog the install Sure why not
  19. Waiting ... and probably watching/learning/asking questions!
  20. I checked the owners club for reviews and they seem rated. My current suspension was harshest out of all newages so in theory it should be more comfortable to drive Booked in for Tuesday
  21. Hopefully asap and hopefully yes to supplying them
  22. Hopefully the tein coilovers mate. Similar comfort/damping to standard which suits me! Car feels awful at the moment, haven't used it for a few days and you can tell the front is all off.
  23. PM Sent tony regarding our call the other night
  24. 30 way adjustable ..... Bump this and droop that, it's to much unless touring car is your destination!..... Earlier in this thread you mentioned "servicing" the coils, these type of coils are high maintenance because they offer exemplary high suspension dynamics that you would never use. Back track a little and look at your real needs? Indeed - hence Ill wait for your call. Even the missus asked why I would want 30 damper settings and up to a 90MM drop Gadgets though eh...
  25. The EVO and Scooby clubs seem to be raving about them but like I said ill take advice from yourself http://www.bc-racing.co.uk/br-series-coilovers.asp (street series)
