weather is forecast to hit 17 degrees this week - reckon we will be ok with normal tyres unless the weather is due to turn?? hopefully it stays mild like this for a while longerOn 11/11/2018 at 19:42, Rich said:
They'll make a big difference on cold and icey roads too. When I had my Corolla we had loads of snow at work and everyone was queuing on the main roads when going home. I went via Loudwater Lane up that steep hill, then up The Clump and back down again with no problems at all. They can make a massive difference compared to summer tyres.
It's forecast for 7-16 degrees this week so I won't be fitting ours for another week at least. Are we expecting a cold or mild winter this year after the hot summer we had?

my IS300 is a nightmare (read impossible) to drive in the snow - might be worth looking into...

Has anyone fitted their winter tyres yet? I haven't and looking at the forecast for the next 2 weeks it seems to be warming up again. I've never left it this long before but I seem to be fitting them later every year.
I've never used them. do you have a seperate set of wheels with them on? what winter tyres do you use Rich?

The ramp is regularly serviced and certified. It's all done now and the problem was a bearing liner and one rear corner needed a shim.
which company makes the ramps?

I had an Amstrad PC1512 with twin floppy drives in 1986 when it was launched.
I remember those - wasn't Amstrad owned by Alan Sugar?

got my first computer in 1988. Was a BBC Acorn Archimedes. cost an arm and a leg - can't remember exactly how much but it took me months to save for it...

Well I ordered through Auto-e-bid who put me in touch with an independent car broker that just happened to be in my town who order cars directly from the manufacturer.
Thought I'd do a timeline:
- 30th August ordered
- 31st August call from broker and put down £250 deposit, car ordered
- 7th September order confirmed and paperwork received
- 25th September called broker for update, car is shipping, expected delivery at dealer 2nd November ( not sure what route it takes from Turkey ) but it expects it sits in docks both ends
- 25th September added Superguard paint, wheel and interior treatment to be applied by receiving dealer at a good price
I like the look of these cars. What colour did you order?

Looks like a fun day - now you need to go to Germany to drive round the Nurburgring!

Saw a nice one in a classic Bentley at a classic car show a while back

Nice! V8 engines sound really good

Wait? You're going to sell it?

There are worse drugs even than meth. Look up Naoyope, Flakka and Kokodril. Ridiculous carry on - people going crazy and their arms falling off etc.

Really....Do i need to register or just turn up?
You can just show up Tony - http://www.watfordclassics.co.uk/events.htm

It will be fine Tony, there are loads of modern cars and replicas there every year!
Can't beat the real thing but it's good to think i have.... Classics on the Green is tempting but i doubt a replica or as they say in America "a recreation" to fit in... If i still had the Esprit then that's another story.
-
Also, I was just looking at this advert for a 360 in that colour and your replica is basically spot on https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201807168502848
take a look!

Looking good Tony - why don't you bring her to Classics on the Green on 1st August - just up the road in Croxley Green?
-
works fine on windows 10/chrome here
-
learned something new today!

they have a special pattern so you have to put the drivers side/passengers side on properly so the pattern spins right?
-
its only black on the outside and needs to be put on that way?
-
Direction of travel? Wheel is balanced to go round this particular way?
So do I buy an MX-5?
