  1. Hi, great forum and some fascinating information. My issue:- I bought my 1999 Mk 2 with stock 14" wheels and three different makes of budget 185.60x14 tyres. I have changed these for Fox Evo 6 16x7.5 with Toyo 195.45x16 S1 tyres (I thought the wheel a little too wide for the tyre but Toyo state a 7.5 wheel is fine). Anyway everything is really good except I get a vibration from the front from about 70 - 80 mph. It crossed my mind that the heavier wheel/tyre combo may not be getting the correct damping from the stock shocks. The car has 80K on the clock. Am I on the right track here? Incidently, the Toyos give awesome grip, probably better than the Continentals on my Volvo T5. I have yet to find the limit in the dry, just about got there in the wet!! Any comments or advice gratefully received.
