  3. CTWENTY is the code, maybe it's because I haven't spent much with them of late?
  4. This was too good a bargain to miss tbh Tony, I actually tried to buy one of these last summer, way before my install was completed. I asked the eBay seller to test it before dispatch, & although it had been in a box on his wardrobe for about a year having been in a previous car, once he was reminded how good it sounded, he decided to refund my money rather than sell it. he didn't even have a car to put it in, but was keeping it just in case he did one day in the future. That was at £230. I have seen the odd one come up every now & again, but Christmas, & then the install being finished stopped me from bidding, plus they all went for over £230. This one came up on eBay a few weeks back from someone that had one before on eBay, turns out the guy he sold it to got into financial trouble so sold it back to him for much less as he needed the cash in a hurry, so it was already at a good price of just £200 plus £12 P+P. With a a week or so of watching it went unsold, then apeared again at the weekend now down to £190 plus £12 P+P. I was really tempted then, but was still trying to avaoid the temptation, but when I awoke this morning with the 20% off eBay promo email, it was too good a bargain to say no too. £164 including the £12 P+P
  5. OMG I think I'm obsessed, I just bought another amplifier & it's a beast.... I did get a bargain tho, it was originally for a good price but I resisted temptation, but then I got an email from eBay this morning offering me a 20% discount. Now bearing in mind it will replace an existing amplifier that I will sell for around £110-£130 (that I have owned for about 8 years), it will eventually only cost me £30-40 to have upgraded after my 20% is added in (£38). It will power literally ANY speaker upgrades I make to the front soundstage, plus it will give me visual symmetry in my amp rack as both amplifiers will be exactly the same size..... JL Audio 450/4v2 Instead of just over £200 (secondhand) I got £38 off, and will sell the amp it replaces for £120 or so. £40 or so to upgrade? Yep it probably sounds like I'm trying to justify the extra outlay (I am), & the fact I will most likely be going for more speakers in the front soundstage as this amp is 150w R.M.S 4ohm all the way down to a 1ohm load, so I can run pretty much as many speakers in the front as I want..... The amp on the right is being replaced with one the same dimensions as the one on the left, which will be moved slightly towards the left so the symmetry is perfect. My only real problem (other than a cash shortfall) is my ears being ridiculously hyper critical, with the desire of wanting to it to be absolutely perfect. The Stealth look will still be my aim, but custom door builds look like they will be the order of the day, with another set of JL Audio C3-650's getting slotted in, and that means I will still have 1x 150w R.M.S to play with, which could power a small subwoofer in the front passenger footwell...... OMG I think I really am obsessed :/
  6. Great value too now the price has dropped some £200 or so buddy
  7. Oh & I forgot to mansion the customisable wallpaper & the amazing time alignment adjustment that I am only just getting to grips with.
  8. Pioneer F60-DAB 7" Touchscreen Full Sat-Nav Bluetooth Handsfree Apple CarPlay DAB DVD, CD, Mp3 CD, DivX SD Card USB HDMI input etc the spec list is enormous. The unit has now been superseded by the F-70DAB but I doubt there are many differences & of course the F-60DAB is now around £200 cheaper than I paid for it this time last summer
  9. Say hello to my ugly mug firstly with George Jenkins from JL Audio and at the very end of the night with Peter Huet from Huets The In Car Specialists. Also a big thanks to Car Audio royalty, Mr Adam Rayner for the pictures.
  10. Ok here is the main video shot on the night by Car Audio God journo Adam Rayner. The first car he is raving about is the Huets JL Audio Golf, which has the same C3-650 speakers as mine has in the front doors. Also George Jenkins from JL makes an appearance. Top night. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7d1_wLclehQ&a=&feature=youtu.be
  11. BTW Shahz I can probably do other days, but not Monday as I'm at the hospital and Wednesday am at the Docs until about 9:30 am and will take up to 10:30-11am to get up to WIM.
  12. I just had a quick calculation with the added weight of the install, including everything so that's all the sound deadening, power & speaker cables, conduit, terminals, 3 amplifiers, 1x subwoofer, 2x sets of components & crossovers, 2x tweeters & crossovers, MDF mounting rings, 2x F.A.S.T Rings, Fuse/ Ground Distribution Blocks, MDF Fuse Board, Amp rack & Subwoofer Box, plus a second AGM Battery the grand total is around 150-160kg. Gulp Ah well no wonder I have lost about 3mpg......
  13. Thursday next week is good for me if that helps pal?
  14. I felt honoured if that's not to make too much of it
  15. One for the Car Audio fans who have followed my ICE install build or just had a quick demo. Last Thursday evening I went to Huets The In-Car Specialists in Shoreham, they are a well known ICE dealer on the South Coast & massively respected for their installs. They were having an ICE Night, various cars were there from an old (but spotless) Capri & XR4i to various VW's, along with the JL Audio UK guys with their Demo Audi A3, and Huets had their own new JL Demo Car as well. There was also Kenwood UK (cough) there with a nice Demo Scirocco. Sounded pretty good, but it's four subwoofers were only just about on a par with my 1 subwoofer loooooool. I digress. Whilst I was there chatting to the guys from JL, I was introduced to a smartly dressed American guy. He is George Jenkins and turn out works for JL Audio at their Electronics & Research faciltity in Phoenix & is the Director of International Sales. He overheard me talking to the other guys about my install & wanted to have a listen. f**k yes!!!! Turns out he formerly worked at Pioneer, Bose, Boston Acoustics, and most recently Kicker. After a quick look around my install I gave him a demo, he asked about the head unit & I showed him some of the tricks. He then asked if he could plug his iPhone in and use the Apple Car Play to play some of his playlist. Some more acoustic stuff came up from Stevie Ray Vaughan amongst others, and he was very impressed. He gets to hear a lot of different installs on his travels to shows etc, some fully pro installs, others by enthusiasts like myself, & it really makes him smile to hear a JL install that has been installed & set up properly to get the best possible sound out of it. I got a big thumbs up. To say I was pretty chuffed doesn't even come close!! I know some might say "well he would say that wouldn't he?", but tbh after a few tracks of mine he could have made excuses and left as he was there on a professional level to talk to journos, distributors & dealers etc, but to sit there and then want to go thru several tracks off his phone as well tells me he was enjoying it 100%. So the man from JL Audio, he said "Yes!" & that's good enough for me George Jenkins from JL Audio Huets Staff & George Jenkins from JL Audio Huets JL Demo Golf The Official JL Audio Demo Audi A3 Kenwood Scirocco Spotless Ford Capri Ford XR4i Revolution P.S There will be a photo or two of me talking to George at some point, but I'm awaiting the journos to post them online, but as it was Modified Nationals the following day it will probably be later this week.
  16. Am I the only person that has a snigger whenever I see the words Harman Kardon? Maybe it's just my schoolboy humour playing dyslexic tricks on me....
  17. I mean I didn't pay that as those are current retail prices, & a fair bit has been bought secondhand over the years as upgrades, for example the 1000/1 I only paid £200 for yet new would be around £700, & it was an upgrade to the 500/1 that it replaced which I sold for £125, so only cost me £75 plus an amplifier I had owned for about 7-8 years to upgrade to something giving twice the RMS power.
  18. Had a "man from Del-Monte, he said Yes!" moment the other night, more details to follow when I have pics
  19. Congratations!! Shout me as & when pal
  20. I think I'm free Sunday or Monday Shahz, text me if either suits you.
  21. What I mean is no cable needed for bluetooth calling or for Bluetooth music playing, but for full Apple CarPlay just the simple Lightning USB charge lead.
