  1. Haha! Bazza..you are by far and away the most aloof customer I've ever met. I've got a 7 point cage on the way over as I type this, Cost is £380 all in. It's yours if you want it. Drop me an email at webmaster@night-spirit.co.uk for the details and any further info. It should be here in about 6 weeks time (on a boat)
  2. Tony, The TRDs are knocking..I assume the top mounts have given up the ghost so will be putting some suspension on the car soon..it went to TDI around a year ago for the setup and it's been awesome since then. Sadly there's not a great deal you could do for the car last time, not enough things to adjust The blog started as a way of keeping track of what I'd done when but people started reading it which was nice... Bazza, Cusco (safety 21) 7 point rollcages appear all the time in Japan, they are around 300-350 shipped to your door mate
  3. Hi all, An update to my EP82 build. The car hasn't been on track yet, but it will see action soon (promise Jon) How she started, stock 1.3ltr CT9 turbo powered pushing 133hp at .7bar 18 months later, doing all the work bar the engine swap myself, sourcing all parts from Yahoo auctions in Japan (I run night-spirit.co.uk, offering a car/part finder service..this car is a demonstration of that service) here's the track car in its current guise...not to everyone's taste but it works for me Engine: Japan built 1.4ltr 4E-FTE HRF V300 TD05-16G with 18G exhaust housing and wheel HRF V300 downpipe - lagged with Thermal Logic Xtreme wrap HRF V300 tubular manifold - lagged with Thermal Logic Xtreme wrap Blitz wastegate with screamer Greddy VVC boost controller set at 1.2 bar Blitz twin core front mount intercooler - lagged with heat wrap Blitz SUS filter mounted in front bumpoer - lagged with heat wrap SplitFire racing leads Apexi Power FC Apexi N1 racing exhaust system Greddy catch tank with K&N breather OS Giken twin plate clutch OS Giken 9lb flywheel TRD engine mounts TRD oil cap Yashio racing radiator and rad cap PAS and ancillaries removed Air con and ancillaries removed 410cc x 4 Blitz injectors with resistor pack Racing gearbox master cylinder Greddy oil cooler with relocator Blitz fuel pump Suspension and chassis: TRD coilovers front and rear Tanabe front anti-roll bar Cusco front lower brace Cusco front top brace Cusco carbon fibre rear top brace Cusco adjustable panhard rod Brakes, wheels and tyres: Wedsport TC05s 15" with Advan Neova D1 rubber Outlaw 2000 4 pot front calipers Outlaw 275 grooved front discs Endless NA-A pads on front Outlaw braided brake lines front OEM rear discs Sard Type M rear pads Goodridge braided rear lines Cusco master cylinder stopper 5.1 racing fluid Interior: Fully stripped interior Safety 21 7 point rollcage Custom flocked dashboard Varley Red Top 8 battery relocated to boot Single Cobra Carbon Fibre bucket seat Scroth 5 point harness Fire extinguisher Custom centre panel for switches Momo Course steering wheel Gredddy shift knob Sparco rally pedals Blitz turbo timer Greddy EGT gauge Greddy A/F gauge Greddy boost gauge Greddy water temp gauge Apexi EL Rev Gauge Escort Cosworth roof vent with water collector to floor Exterior: HRF V300 modified front bumper Doobie/Purple Speed side skirts Doobie/Purple Speed modified rear bumper Bodyworks SL lightweight trunk lid and CF GT wing (from Evo engined EP) Dolphin Aero carbon bonnet with release pins Dolphin Aero carbon front cannards Ask Sport carbon GT mirrors with custom baseplates 4mm polycarb front windows with drivers slider 4mm polycarb rear 1/4s 4mm polycarb rear screen Stats: Weight: 725kg fully wet BHP: 202 atw Torque: 170 lb/ft Top speed: 135mph (so far)
  4. Evening Bazza, everyone... it's good to see another EP being given the proper treatment Not wanting to hijack your thread here, but my EP in its current trim weighs in at 760kg and with 203hp at the wheels that's an impressive 300+ hp per tonne. All on the blog www.night-spirit.co.uk/blog JonB said you may be looking for a cage too? I come across those fairly regularly on my travels...let me know if you need any help!
  5. Very true...do you still own 'the wheels' ?
  6. Will do jon, the ep only has one seat though and you're far too fat...you'll ruin the setup. If I have to leave the car (TDI could do the powerfc possibly aswell) I could get a lift from you and make that panel no sweat.
  7. Fantastic...will get that booked when the ep is on the road.
  8. ah ok, well where do I go for all this lovely work? would love to know what the car weighs if I get anywhere near the target of 700kg I'll be a happy happy man!
  9. Funny you should say that..I was kind of hoping you could tell me Needs doing when the car is on the road before I wear the tyres down to the canvas
  10. Well, apart from the injectors and fuel pump (and the all important power fc) the ep is now ready for the road/track. Updated on the blog (I'm lazy) www.night-spirit.co.uk/blog
  11. Hoping to get some more done this weekend, unless the wife drags me off to a garden centre, or a supermarket or something else that simply removes time from your day...
  12. sounds like a very sensible way forward...head gasket? My EP has 101k miles on it, so I'm trying to preserve that really but when it does go bang I'll be going for a 5E block, forged pistons, valve springs, crank, HG, bolts and studs, cams, pulleys, flywheel etc. My ultimate aim before moving onto another track car would be ~300 hp from the EP. The key being instant, useable power...none of this huge turbo and figures bollocks like I did on the mr2.
  13. Lol... Hopefully we'll end up on a track together at some point and we can terrorise all the other peeps I'm loving that ct20b with custom manifold, gotta get me one of those! You keeping the stock internals for as long as possible until it turns to mush from the power?
  14. Was pointed in the direction of this site by a good friend (Jon . Saw the EP82 project Bazza is working on (very impressed) and thought I'd share my starlet project with you all. Coming from a highly modified MR2 Turbo that I never drove pushing 448hp at the flywheel and 303 lb/ft...I thought I'd buy a nice daily driver and concentrate on a weekend track weapon with no frills. I'm going more extreme than Bazza, although the engine mods will stop (to start with) at the Power FC, Supra fuel pump and Supra injectors....all of which are sat in the shed. This weekend our container has arrived from Japan with a few bits for the EP in there so hopefully I'll be able to get the TRD Coilovers, cusco adjustable panhard rod and the Safety 21, 7 point roll cage in there www.night-spirit.co.uk/blog Click above for the blog...better than me typing it all again.
