  1. Yes they did drive it and said the steering rack was at fault. So new rack fitted at a cost of £1300 ! They apparently test drove the car after the new rack was fitted and said all was fine. Though this doesn't account for much cause they done the same first time round with they recailbrated the sensors and said it was ok now. The car is to me not much better with the new rack fitted it still pulls left and right , heavy steering, under steers and tram lines a lot on broken surfaces. So £1300 later the car is not much better I'm contacting Ford HQ on the matter.
  2. Still having issues with this ... car is very hard to turn in to a corner under steers a lot a feels like it just wants to go straight!! I've contacted the Ford dealer and they seem unwilling to help further without it costing me more money!!! Could I ask a favour as I seem to keep getting different specs (within range ) for the alignment . I'd be interested to see what it says on your data base? Thanks
  3. New rack fitted ...yes it's Better but the car still doesn't feel how it did before 🙄 ... I'd be interested to see what toe settings are on the front pretty sure it's still toeing in as that what Ford seem to recommend..
  4. Just to say big thanks to you Tony 👠for your advice much appreciated.
  5. Yes it's be a real pain for a month or more now... If I had more time to source a reconditioned rack I would but my wife needs the car back ASAP to go to work and ferry kids about. The rack is unserviceable so a new one is the only option. I'm just hoping this will be the end of it ..
  6. Private round .. still unsure at this time who is responsible for it.
  7. Yes it would be if it was a default part but it's been caused by a impact so they won't do it under warranty.. believe me I have tried! May try the insurance route ..
  8. New steering rack needed is the outcome due to a damaged plate within the rack ... Not covered under warranty due to damage and not manufactures default .. £1100 ... Happy Christmas! Not convinced by these epas systems ...
  9. True , it's getting silly now to the point where its getting dangerous! When driving tonight when accelerating gently then slowing down the car pulled severely to the left... ?? I'm struggling to understand this issue .... The steering is very heavy too ..
  10. Car is going back next week.... this time they want me to drive the car and show them the problem... fingers crossed ...
  11. Haven driven the car tonight its unacceptable... seems to of started pulling left and right again .. more left though!!! I'm not happy going to be ringing the dealers ASAP .
  12. Yes I think your probably right regarding the EPS .
  13. Yes I can appreciate that. I may take it to another main dealer at a later date. Ideally I'd like to find a independent Ford garage they normally have more time and understanding.
  14. Not sure which I have to be honest. Is adjusting the eps (if basic version) something that you could do or a decent alignment/ garage ?
  15. Thanks for the advice .. to adjust the eps I take it you need to have Etis Ford diagnostics program..
  16. Ok I see thanks , it definitely drifts to the left for sure. I'm not overly happy with it but not sure where to go from here.. ?
  17. True , not sure haven't driven the car since last night but from memory I'm not sure it is... will have to check it tomorrow.
  18. Ford reset the steering angles , angle sensor, straight ahead sensor and steering drift. Car drives much more like it should though not 100% happy still seems to pull to the left more so then I would expect from road camber but it's liveable.. Car doesn't turn in as well as I'd like so going to add some toe out soon .
  19. No I don't believe it has lane devaition, it has EPS with torque angle sensor and steering angle sensor. Which apparently can solve issues with steering pull and drift. ?
  20. I know you said my geometry was spot on, ignoring my issue at the moment would I not benefit from some toe out? thanks
  21. I've been reading about electric steering and the need to re calibrate after a adjustment is made to the alignment... car go's in on Tuesday so wait and see .
  22. Right swapped tyres back to front ... still exactly the same ! So looks like the tyres were all good . I've had to book the car in now at Ford as not sure what is causing it??? Wasn't really what I was expecting was hoping it might of been a simple tyre issue. The car is definitely getting worse it was better when the tyres were first fitted!?
  23. If it is a fault with one or both new tyres / garage ... how do I stand ? Someone said something about a slipped belt ... ? I'm learning lots didn't realise so much was involved! The other thing like stated before they are noisy which suggests to me a problem with them..
  24. Going to be moving tyres later today backs to front . Car actually seems worse now after swapping fronts side to side. Thinking back one thing I thought was strange at time of fitting was the guy said bloody hell these tyres are hard to blow up..? Can you misfit tyres that would cause a similar problem?
