It was a nightmare... but I'm pretty sure someone with the time and knowledge could sort it.. just a shame Ford are not willing as I can't afford to keep throwing money at it and spending my time chasing Ford.

Got totally fed with this issue and Ford so I have now traded the car in . Hopefully the next owner can get to the bottom of it I wish them luck . Lesson learnt don't drive down pot holes if you own a Ford ! Thanks for all your advice much appreciated Tony .

Cheers Tony, this whole issue has been a mystery... still haven't got to the bottom of it . ..?? All things now are pointing to the rack again.! The car drives fine 90% of the time unless it's a badly surfaced road when the car pulls a lot. Will be going back to Ford again , but have a feeling this wont result in much and will have to live with the issue.

Cheers, yeah ideally I wanted them to toe the front out a bit but garage said it was best to stick to Ford specs. Does everything else look ok? I'm running the tyres that we're on the back from factory which are Continental contact sport 3 with about 4mm of tread. The new tyres Michelin pilot sport 4's are on the back.

Had the 4 wheel 3D wheel alignment carried out today OSF toe was out of factory spec and so was the NSR , I do have a before and after data sheet can post it up if needed. They also said the resistance in the steering is steering rack related and I should go back to Ford again. The car is better and drives pretty straight most of the time still doesn't seem to turn in and feel as crisp and tramlining is more pronounced then before all this ... ! I take it different brand of tyres can have different steering feel i.e. Lighter or heavier was thinking some it maybe down to the fact I now have different brand of tyres on the front.

And so it continues... another main dealer ... can't fault it 😮 ... really !!!! Lost patience with this now .. car is now booked at a independent garage first thing they are doing is a proper four wheel alignment since it's never been checked since the new rack ... . Fingers crossed again ..

Well what .. a complete joke this franchise of Ford are ... Yet another c**k up !! No courtesy car available even though it's been booked for 3 weeks! Having looked into other reviews the service is shocking with others complaining their car is never fixed! I'm going to use another dealership now with much better reviews and then contact The Motor Ombudsman to recover costs . One day maybe this will be sorted out ... fingers crossed.

Yes mate hence why I'm so annoyed.. !!! Agree Tony it probably never either needed a new rack and they were hoping it would fix the issue . This is why up until now I have never used main dealers !

That's £1400 to fix ... the car cost 14k . 😀

Thanks , the car is my main gripe after it cost me £1400 !! I've just listed 7 items / issues with the car since the new rack. Can't wait to see what Ford say! 🤔

On a slightly different subject .. I have recently got a Peugeot partner van that pulls severely to the left.. steering wheel is straight . Having googled this it appears many of these vans are affected by this due to the rear subframe being slightly out. If this is the case could a good alignment center improve it? Thanks

This seems never ending ... car is going back to Ford in a couple of wks time they have agreed to look at it with no charge and take it from there..,! Car as got worse it's now developed a steering wheel vibration from 55mph upwards and it's started to clonk with slow manoeuvres as well as the other issues... If I could hand this car back I would . 😬

I'm on 18" . Stops ? Where are these exactly and how do they work? I take it they are basically a rubber type stop to stop like you say the tyre fouling.

I'm pulling my hair out over this !! Ford have been in contact I've filed a complaint so just have to wait now. Strange thing happened tonight when reversing I turned onto full lock wheel wouldn't turn any more then the wheel turned again further .... I've also noticed the lock seems less then before... ?? Shed any light on this Tony. Thanks

Not sure at this point waiting to hear back from Ford.

I'm starting to think the same .. I can't but think they have missed something simple ... Yes am pretty sure the ECU as been read . The car is better then what it was but still no where near how it should be back roads are a constant fight.
