  1. Hi Tony, Thanks for your response. I was told you was off ill, Hope you get well soon. I agree with you about the person to person "straight" differs, I did ask a couple of my mates to drive my car, they also own the similar cars and they all came back with steering was a bit off. I can take a day off work when ever you want me to come in. Please let me know. Many Thanks, Gokhan
  2. Hi, Thanks for your quick response. @Rich - I will consider swapping the tyres around but would tyres cause steering being off? Tyres were not mentioned. @parthiban - The work was done by a BMW specialist. Thanks
  3. Hello All, I recently had my passenger side suspension hub, ball joint and complete rods changed. This caused the alignment to be off; I needed a reliable company to do the alignment properly basically someone who knows what they are doing! After searching on Google and looking at various forums I found wheels-inmotion with good feedback etc. I called up asked how much it was for tracking/alignment was told £90. I said fine book me in. I drove from North London to Buckinghamshire (30 miles). The distance was not an issue as I thought these guys know their business with the amount of positive feedback it would be worth the journey. I think it was Tony who took the job he showed me the screen mentioned the whole lot needs to be aligned as everything was in red which would be £130 + Vat. I did not even ask why I was told £90 over the phone as I thought may be only the basic alignment is £90 and he needs to do the lot. The job took about about 30 mins. Please see below the copy of the alignment changes. While driving back home it was apparent that the steering wheel was still off and to go straight you had slightly keep steering more to the left. I called back to book another day and I drove back and spoke with Tony he said because he adjusted a few places on the day it may of moved off while adjusting the other parts. Anyway he re-adjusted it and I drove back home no problems. After couple of days the alignment started to go off again, I thought it's mechanical and took it to a bmw specialist they checked the suspension parts etc and the angle sensor settings. Everything turned out to be fine. They said it might be the tracking rods may become loose and the alignment might have gone off again so I should take it back again for the geometry check. As I was busy at work for the last couple of weeks I had no time to get the back to wim. I called up wheels-inmotion this morning spoke with "Peter" asked him to book me in and after I explained that I did not hit any pot holes nor changed any parts he suggested that I might have a problem the ECU or Electric fault that's why the steering wheel is off? I did mention to him that the bmw specialist checked the angle sensor and it was all ok. Can the above be correct? I seem to not believe that something with the ECU or angle sensor can cause steering wheel to be off? After I heard the above statement from Peter I decided to not book the car back in as I really don't want to drive 30 miles if the person believes and alignment can be off because of an ECU? Can someone please advise me what I should do? As I am out of pocket for £156.. Thanks, Gokhan
