  1. I'm proposing to lower my GT500 using the Eibach Sportline Kit - lowers by -1.6" front and -2" rear. Plus Eibach F&R sway bars. I know that this set up will knock the geo out to *hit. The front suspension is active and I have some Steeda camber/caster adjustable top mounts to replace at the same time. I'm ok with this, -0.5 neg slightly toe in. Rear is dumb trailing bars. Looking for -1 to -1.5 with up to 650rwbhp. Should I replace the rear control arms with uprated or uprated+ with the new weld-in mount replacements? Should I replace the rear Panhard bar & strut with uprated the same, or go for something like the Whiteline Watts Link? Any comments or suggestions appreciated.
  2. Finally making some progress with this:
  3. Work in progress....Everything which comes off without a gas axe is coming off so that I can do a full paint correction unhindered. Although not badly marked or scratched, the paint was suffering from a "pink" effect due to have been left in direct sunlight for too long, and swirls everywhere. The passenger side front fender & door panels had also geen given a poor respray and would benefit from some major correction. The OEM Le Mans racing stripes were cut, drilled, wearing badly and peeling in places....the main hood and roof twin stripes came off easily. The GT500 rocker stripes just disintegrated, leaving some cack to clean up. I then snow-foamed the car using neat fairly liquid to remove any previous waxes or sealants. Next, a spraying with neat mineral white spirit to remove any tar, grease/oil and glue residue. US paint is generally very hard and solvent resistant, so I didn't have any worries about the white spirit messing up the paint. On to the best decontaminant on the market, Iron-X. I sprayed a good 500ml all over the car and got a good purple bleading from the front fenders and the roof. This then followed by another FL snowfoam, and a dry off. I next removed the front & rear bumpers, splitter and grilles for a separate detailing and finish. The wheels also came off at this point. This one is awful....two previous owners who were dentists in previous lives Badges left to de-glue in an organic orange oil based solvent, paint friendly.

No more than £15 I reckon!!.....sickening aint it :( I see it's minus the decals on the other thread has you painted it? 98 grade works out at 0.31p a litre I couldn't afford to run this thing in the real world! The decals in those pics are the OEM doodles....they were looking very sad, starting to peel in lots of places and also prevented a full paint correction. So they got nuked. I'm waiting on some custom vinyl stripes from Bob White Decals in the US to start the end of this project...They've been stuck in customs for 3 feeking weeks now! They don't smell of pork at all guv.
  5. This is my “winter” project….a 2008 SVT Shelby Cobra in Torch Red. Although there’s only 36,000km on the odo and a fully stamped service book from the Ford agency, the car had been badly neglected and was in need of a complete refurb to bring him back to his true glory. Everything was standard….5.4L supercharged V8 with 500bhp/ 480ftlbs and for the price of $18,000 this was some serious bangs per buck! Here’s a few pics of the car as was at the dealership…
