  1. What I forgot to mention is the recommended load rating for the front is 89. These Contis are extra load tyres with 93 load rating. Is this likely to make a difference ?
  2. Yes, but the inside to out wear is very very slight in reality
  3. Yes, have had several 400bhp+ motors and am aware of this. However, the unusually front o/s harsh wear on this car is puzzling, unless the tyres design comes into play. But why so much more on the o/s than the n/s. Having had several BMW's I can safely say the rears usually last 22-25k, 330i x 2,530d, 535d, 320d all the same. Never had Goodyears before on any of them, so that must be down to the wear rate of this tyre. Routinely had 40k from the fronts too, and no wear problems. All these cars were set-up at a motorsport place with a dedicated suspension specialist. So now have two cars with the same tyres, set-up at a new place, both with front shoulder wear. It's either the set-up or the tyres ?
  4. Only slightly "Tread across rest of tyre (inner to outer) 3/4/5mm"
  5. Car is run at stock pressures, and regularly checked with a very decent gauge.
  6. So since 50k miles I have Assim 2 all round. Wear on rear is even, although alarmingly fast, down to 5mm after 5k miles. Fronts seem to be wearing fairly evenly so far, the shoulder design is are more akin to the rest of the tyre, unlike the Conti. I'd say both shoulders 0.5mm less than rest of tyre. Although due to the design this measurement isn't actually that close to the outer edge of the tyre. Visually no excess wear apparent. Car is run at stock pressures, and regularly checked with a very decent gauge.
  7. Well I'd rather pay for the adjustment than trash two perfectly good tyres which should give 40k assuming correct wear. Given the inner edge is also more worn than the rest of the tyre, would any camber change to correct the outer wear make the inside edge wear worse ? Would also appreciate some tyre recommendations which may improve matters. Car just tootles around mainly, so performance isn't really an issue. Longevity more important. Having put Goodyear Assim 2 on the E90( see other thread) I am shocked to see how quick these have worn on the rear of that car, down to 5mm after 5k miles.
  8. Following on from my 1 series post. 2011 E90 320d Msport Runflats from new (yuk). Changed at 26k miles for Contisport 3 (non runflat) all round. See alignment done at 26k miles below. I don't remember any unusual wear on the runflats and I do remember thinking the fronts have loads of tread left, what a waste. So no front shoulder wear with the runflats, and the "before" alignment settings. So, at 50k miles I changed all four tyres again. The rears had worn out ( no unusual wear). The fronts had the following problems - OSF outer shoulder was slick. NSF - worn but not slick and still had visible tread. Rest of tyre both sides around 4mm. Alignment was checked, resulting in the below. Then adjusted back into spec. It wasn't far out ? Car is mainly driven on the motorway (80%), and mainly in lanes 2+3. I am wondering if the outer shoulder on these Conti 3 is a problem. See my 1 series post.
  9. Yes both tyres wearing exactly the same. I did wonder if the design of the Conti 3 contributes, as the outer edge does seem to have less tread and "slope" away towards the outside of the tyre My other post on the E90 (coming shortly) may or may not support this
  10. Would be grateful for some help with this. Also have a problem with an E90, (see my other post). They are related as set-up done at same tyre dealer and also tyres are Contisport. The car : 118d msport 2007 The tyres : Conitsport 3 fitted at 34k miles. Rears were worn out after 20k miles with even wear and replaced with Assim 2. So issue is with front only. Mileage now : 57k miles Alignment done as below @ 41k miles. Car was weighted Tread across rest of tyre (inner to outer) 3/4/5mm Shoulders wearing as per pic, not horrendous, but it won't be too long before they are slick. Many thanks in advance . . .
