  1. Tony's original looks like a dust storm to me.

There were some good lenticular clouds a couple of weeks ago when I was skiing in the French Alps. Not quite as impressive as the one below but very interesting nonetheless. Indicators of good lift for gliding apparently. Worth Googling Lenticular Clouds and looking at the images - some truly spectacular pics there.

  2. That's certainly impressive but I think the wording of the article is a bit crap:

"was driving his BMW 3 Series in Johannesburg, when he slipped on a patch of wet tarmac, lost control and slammed straight into a guardrail. The massive string of metal went cleanly through the windscreen and out the back"

What it should say was he was hooning his Beemer - really givin' it large - and dropped it backwards into the end of the guardrail.

It obviously went in backwards, so to say it went clean through the windscreen and out the back is completely the wrong way round!

  3. Yep, was a hoot. However its not totally inappropriate, just unexpected. There was anothe one out for the first time too, but they had to cut out some sections.

I've got the ride height 3.5" above standard and that's just about enough and with the sumpguard it ploughs through most stuff.

The biggest problem is the lack of travel of the rear suspension and the rear damping was way too soft which did lead to some comical circus-car type antics.

  4. Obviously a spoof, but where did it come from? I recognise the woman in the picture, it's Esma Cannon, a comedy actress from television in the 60's.

The show in which I best remember her was called (I'm pretty sure) "The Rag Trade" starring Peter Jones and Miriam Carling.

I remember Esma more from the Carry On films, but then I am a generation younger...

Found the spoof on viz.co.uk.  Here's another... Sorry but I still find stuff like this very funny.
