Tony are you able to get the same print out as per this http://www.mr2oc.co.uk/ForumsPro/viewtopic...15/start=0.html Can do..... If i remember to remember Hi Tony I have managed to get my hands on a TRD brace for my MR2. I have tried to fit it tonight and it doesn't fit. It is probably out by 2-3mm. I imagine this is down to the age of the car and a slight sagging in the chasis. I am planning jacking the car up via the sub frame to see if the car will move so i can get the brace on. Obviousley this will mean the setup of my car will change. Is there anywhere round here Leeds/Bradford/Manchester that know what they are doing, so i can get my car checked afterwards? Thank you Pete Only one place> http://www.nigellangsgarage.co.uk/profile.htm Be sure to release as many anchor points at the chassis as you can see.... This should give you the flex you need. Thank you this info Tony. I have had a new engine fitted to my MR2, the handling was not what i expected so I visited NigelLangsGarage. They have done a fantastic job and it now handles just like it did after i visited you. I can recomend them for anyone in the north. Pete

Hi Mark, Yes that was me. Sorry i was in a rush. I was on my way to see a customer and was running late. I'll say Hi next time. I have actually spoken to you before in front of those shops, probably about 2 years ago, It was just after i sold my other MR2 and i thought you had bought it. Pete

They way the car handled before Tony got his hands on it, was ok but not right. All i wanted was the car to be correct again.

Thank you Tony. I think it was a false call. I have been round to a friends who also has a trd brace. His fits, after examining the 2 braces it looks like mine is an earlier one and doesn't allow for any movement at all, whereas my friends does, it has elongated holes in the brace, mine are circular. So panic over. it great to know of a garage up here that are up to the geometry job. Pete ps any changes of that other print out?

Thank you for your replys. But i dont like the response. I am off to france in it this weekend!! It feels ok to drive at the moment. That image in the top right is the equipment used. I saw them using it. I take it, it is old equipment. Do you think you could squeeze me in on monday? I get back from france sunday evening and staying at brothers in london on sunday night. Then driving back up to leeds on monday. If i could come and see you monday then it would save having to come back down the M1. Please??? Pete
  15. Hi Guys Hi Tony, i spoke to you a couple of times last week regarding my MR2 and it setup. Its been to a garage local to me to get 4 wheels laser alignment twice now and once to correct the tracking. You asked me to describe in a timeline fashion what has happened with the car. So here goes. 1) I bought the car end of april and knew that the tracking was way off because the inside of all 4 tyres were scrubbed of completetly. The front tyres needed replacing. So i bought a new set of tyres and had them fitted. I knew that i needed the tracking looked. 2) I got some camber checked and bolts fitted. 3) The next thing is the tracking/toe, so i took it to a local firm to me to correct it. They tried their best, but just could get it right!! they could get the tracking right but then the steering wheel was way off, i took it back but they said they adjusted one part and another one then changed. When they said that, i took my car and was then on for another garage to fix it. 4) i then found a garage that said 4 wheel laser alignement. So i booked it in to get it sorted. They worked on my car and i got this report. 5) After this the car felt better but didn't feel quite right. The back end felt as if it was coming round behind me when cornering. 6) I need to get my wheels reconditioned because they were badly corroded. I mannaged to borrow a set of wheels from a friend and as soon as these wheels were on the steering was slightly off centre when driving in a straight line. I called the garage and they said it was because i has the alignment done with my wheels not this temperary set and should be alright when i put my wheels back on. 7) Put my wheels back on and guess what?? same problem. So i called the garage and booked it in to get the wheels sorted. They did this and my steering wheel was correct. 8) I am convinced that the car isn't handling correctly, but i had a rattle from the back of my car, so i took it to my trusted local (very much trusted, you know the ones that are hard to find) machanic. He/We found the rattle/knocking noise. It was the tie bar?? the one that adjusts the toeing of the wheels. The locking nut was not tight, it wasn't even close the bar. My mechanic fixed this and sorted the noise. 9) I took called the 4 wheels laser garage to explain to them that the car isn't right and that this nut was loose. I got the car booked back in again. They had it for 2 days!!!! I got this report back They wanted to charge me £57 for the pleasure, which i refused and finally i got my car back without having to pay any money The car does feel a lot better now. i would really appriciate your feedback on the reports as it is a forign language to me. The car is a Totota MR2 Rev 5 1999 (UK car). It is on the standard 15" wheels Thank you Pete
