  1. Sorry for the late reply mate, not long back from work...

Its most noticeable on the long sweeping stuff.

If you watch the above from 6:30 you'll see the go far right, cut straight, go right and position to the left for a sweeping right hander. From about 7:01 to 7:04 would be when it was worse. Poor video to show you as thats a crap line through the corner, but thats the corner !

    Hope this helps

  2. Firstly, disgusting behaviour of mine, not been posting for ages and keeping in touch Tony !

I've done a spur of the moment track day booking for this Sunday at Cadwell Park, and just want to see if you have any ideas.

Car is feeling great with the new setup you did Tony, but I might need you to do one of the adjustments if thats possible. Under 'hard load' through quicker corners the car feels what can only be described as though its squirming... Almost as though potentially I've hit the limit of the sidewall and the tyre is rolling over... I'm running 32psi in the Bridgestone Potenza RE050a's, so they should be fine really... is it a case of needing more tyre pressure or different settings... or do I need to go to a shorter sidewall and go 17's?

    Hope everyone is doing great

    Speak soon

    Gareth

  3. Hi Graham,

I have a Honda S2000 which Tony looks after for me.

I have to be honest and say that since having the work done the car is signficantly quicker on the track, mainly due to how confident I am now with the car. I was chasing down a 911 at my last track day to put into perspective the difference a good geo makes !

Definately get it, even if its just ot ensure your tyres wear right !

  4. Dropped my car off at WIM today with Tony.

Totally trashed my discs and pads when i was chasing a 911 at Bedford (see the car videos sub forum !) so I decided I'd get some new ones. (Tony, if you wanted to take pictures of them and show the heat damage I'm sure some people would like a peek !)

    I've gone for DBA 4000 front discs - http://www.dba.com.au/4000series/default.asp

Ferrodo DS2500 front and rear pads http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pages/gui...rake-pads.mhtml

and just boggo OEM rear vented discs.

I'm also using Motul RBF 600 racing Dot 4 Brake Fluid - http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-894-motul-rbf-...rake-fluid.aspx

This is seen as one of the best upgrades you can do on the S2K other than Dixcel brakes or going BBK.

Fingers crossed we should see a nice improvement on the track !

Tony, only link I could find for the pads was that supplier, will take it off if its an issue !

  5. Certainly one way to describe it !

The car felt under control at all times, even when at the start of video 2 I slide towards the grass. People said how ace it was that after this I kept the chase up, in honesty the car just felt superb so I had the confidence to keep going !

I'll get some more videos up asap and will link them in here :-) important to note that I'm stock power, was stock brakes with the only mods being tony's geo and some cusco braces and roll bars. The 911 was more than 100 bhp up on me and he had aftermarket suspension, kwv3's which are superb by all accounts!

    Glad you enjoyed watching !

  6. Hi all,

First outing back at Bedford with the S2000 and what did I run into, a 911 !

Worth stating Tony has this as an ongoing project and gave me a base tune to start, can't say I can fault it at all, so progressive its unbelievable (see the start of part 2 to see what I mean !!) I'm going back on Thursday for some chassis adjustments to get some more from this.

Worth stating my driving isn't great, and I still have a lot to learn !

  7. Hi Tony,

The 3 guys in the other s2000's were really impressed with today. Gaspode (chap who spoke to you about the cusco stuff) seems keen to get you to do some bits for him, Adam is already booked in with you for a geo, and the other chap (new to the forums) is a croxley lad and will be bringing his car to you shortly.... I'll get some more people down next time, sorry there were only 4 of us !

Cheers for making us feel so welcome, was great to get to park down at the other end of the car park putting the cars together.

CamInHead, I think it was you I was speaking to around the s2000s (you took a picture of my engine bay I think?)

  8. Hi Tony,

Long time no speak and totally my fault, been doing silly hours at work!

Mind if I pop along in a certain 9000 rpm Honda? I've still not managed to get it on the track, but I'm doing another s2000 run up to towcester on Sunday AM, seems to be great so far though

  9. I'm looking to plan my 4th trip to this track. Hopefully going to go on Feb 28th with easytrack but may wait till march and go with motorsport vision again ...

If I grab some more details when I book anyone else on here interested ?

I'll be using it to test my new setup that Tony has sorted for me and getting him some feedback on where changes might be needed.

  10. Aw, don't blame the owners blame the industry.

Yeah that's very true...how do you undo years of bad habits!

I have to be honest. Before I got the S2000 I had no idea about the importance of getting the geo done on a car. I had never even considered getting it done.

  11. That's an understatement! :angry2:

Looking good now you've worked the WIM magic on it...I take it the caster is independently adjustable?

Probably fair for me to say that the cars geometry wasn't that bad when it came in, and when Tony took all the suspension apart to push in the new bushes and put on the new ARB's and brace bars that the geo will have been altered then.

Would you agree with that Tony?

On another note... get the car tomorrow B)

  12. The big thing to take into account here I would say is this.

    You have two options ....

Mr Geo tells me its handling perfect, and set up on settings ABC, but i'm not confident due to attribute X... thus I dont feel I can push so hard.

I tell Mr Geo after he sets the car up to base setting that the car feels like its doing XYZ when Im doing ABC and he advises what can be done to amend it. It amends it, I feel more confident, i can push hard and thus go faster...

..... I wonder which option id like to go for !

  13. Good.... Understand i need to keep the initial Geometry very white so that you can read the mods and the chassis?.... If i over-tune the chassis now you won't know what area to explain in the handling transitions.

Basically i need you to analise areas that are easy to identify because understanding a "feel" is harder to tune than understanding a fact.... if you know what i mean :D

Quite, we need to build on this base we now have. If it feels tight or loose or sketchy or flat or whatever, you can try and work out what that really means ... right?

  14. Good looking job there :)

That is going to handle superbly now and you will be like this :D on the drive home.

The car was pretty good at Bedford prior to these mods, but it felt a little... unstable through the faster corners, this should help give me a bit more feel and control as to whats going on. After these mods and ive got used to it and find these limits... I'll start looking into the coilovers :)

Leads to another question.... I assume you desire progressive over-steer?

Indeed, that would be the ideal situation. At the moment its very very controlled at the back, has to be really pushed to get it to come out at all, or when the tyres have got too hot and they start sliding. Even when it does come out in these situations it is very calm and controlled.

Granted, im on about in the dry here on a nice smooth track ... !

  15. Good looking job there :D

That is going to handle superbly now and you will be like this :crying_anim02: on the drive home.
