  1. Hi Tony Sorry, did not make it clear originally, As soon as I purchased the car I replaced the Bridgestones with Continental sport 3 and had a wheel alignment on a hunter machine. Been like this for the last 8k miles, I kept the Bridgestones which had been on the car from new as they still had 5mm tread left. Now the strange wear on the SP3 has occured I checked the OSF Bridgestone and it has the same wear pattern. So even with a geometry check in between, 2 different tyres have worn exactly the same way. This is what I find confusing. Thanks Jason
  2. Hi, I've been recently feeling the car has been unstable on the motorway. Advised to check the wear on the tyres. Discovered that the OS Front seems not to be wearing the outside 1/4 of the tyre at the same rate as the rest. There is about 1mm more depth, you can feel it with your palm, NS front wear is even. Swapped the wheels around and the car now pulls towards the centre of the road, even when the road obviously slopes to the kerb. I still have the original tyres the car came with, Bridgestone RFT's and the one that was fitted to the OSF has the same wear pattern. Any advise welcome. Jason
  3. Thanks Tony Only came across this site today, nice to find something different from the normal (BHP forums) Impressed with your company wedsite as well, I've always used Elite in Essex but may travel the extra distance when I get my wheels / tyres sorted. Jason
  4. Hi Been reading this thread with interest as I recently purchased a 530D 2005MY which needs some new tyres. The car is a M-Sport model on 18inch wheels, 235/40 F&R. I have never felt the car is any worse when its windy but it does not like un-even surfaces which I've put down to the run-flats fitted. I've been looking at bigger wheels and really like these 19" 172m but this thread has got me thinking. As a suggestion why don't you try a set of the 18" wheels which have the same tyre widths? This would show if its the staggered widths. If you want to swap alloys for a week or more I'd be more than happy to assist cheeky I know but it would give you a definate answer and I could judge if Its worth upgraging to 19's. Shame its not today as it's blowing a gale outside. Jason
