So that's a BIG NO to Avons then. Thanks guys
-
Anybody heard of Avon tyres? I think its avon. Some bloke was telling me that he had been reading up on tyres as he was after a set himself and said the Avon zzz 3 (something like that) came out tops on all polls....
-
Im going for 225/35/18, and i will be on coilovers soon I think I'll go 235/35 then. Bit more tyre incase a kerb jumps out at my wheels But then at £75 each it'd be rude not to buy those ones off ebay
-
So what size do I want ?? 235/35/18 or 225/40/18 or 225/35/18 ?????? 18" wheels and I'm on coilovers
-
1) Width 2) aspect ratio, ie width compared to depth Cheers buddy
-
Sorry to seem thick... But is the first number the width and second the height?
-
So not really a great difference to be had apart from slightly less tyre
-
That's what I'm running mate ......... you can see them on Sunday The post on the first page you say you're running 235/35/18 Does it matter whether they are 235/35/18 or 225/40/18????

How have things gone i am very interested to know how much 'warp speed' TDI have infused into the car.... Still in production mate. The installation is complete just awaiting the use of the dyno so the mapping can be done Then comes the bill I shall keep you informed

'Lowering' seems to be the norm with all cars, i wonder why so many people feel the need, is it purely ascetic? Whilst it certainly makes the look of the car a lot better it also improves the handling. Lowering springs is a minimal improvement but an improvement none the less. Coilovers are a much better improved handling, the lower the better. Apart from you're sacrificing the ride comfort.

Mate, you know a very understanding MOT tester Hhmmm not done that drive for a little while..maybe due a drive ooop the mountains
-
Slightly Off Topic Tony, but have you got the equipment at STS yet to do cars that the cameras wont hang on?
-
So pretty much 'hard' ...... # 1 what was it? I think it was an arm rest, followed closely by a dash tray.. Arm rest around 8 hp Dash tray around 2 hp.. not fast enough so I sold it

Hard to say what's the best modification..... I'd have to say all of them.. as they make the car the way I want it to be:D Hard to say the worst modification....I'd have to say probably the first one..if not all of them..as one leads to another and its never ending....If i'd never have started I'd be alot richer
-
Also having fitted: HKS FCON V PRO + harness HKS Navigator HKS MAP SENSOR + Harness The car should now be future poof.. ready for internals...then upping the rev limiter and boost..boost..boost

Liscence plates were a problem with me at MOT time. After a lot of swearing at the tester , they pulled me into the office away from the other customers and said that they'd pass me but not to tell anyone. So with a wink they said see you next week for a retest back infront of the other customers. Not had any problems with the police yet though....touch wood Also I'm sure having no cats on the car cant be that good considering I have to put one in for the MOT. Then take it back off again after. I just need to find a very understanding MOT test centre

Oh ... ok ... Saturday then .............. It was Saturday if everything goes ok... I'll be in touch

I'm running Bridgestone Potenza S03 Pole Position 235/35/18 all around, some slight rubbing at the front on full lock. They come out tops in several tests. On the TDI site it says that the tyre size for these wheels are 225/40R18
-
No TTE coilovers mate I think the techy said that the front or back was set to the recommended height and the other end was slightly lower
-
Let's compare notes, I'll start a new thread I aint going out measuring but you can ask dave or the Prolex techy what ever he lowered mine by as I have no clue
-
The s/c wont be the same bhp as the turbo because the turbo is alot more tunable. I'll let you know next week how many horses my car is running with the turbo and correct fuelling / camcon etc
-
Well mine is 200 rwhp at the mo. But thats with the fuel leaning right off at 5000 rpm. It peaks at .6 but leans of to .5. So with the fuelling sorted i'll have .7 right through the rev range. Also with the camcon fitted it should provide a couple more gee gees also / maybe. As for cost its not cheap
