  1. Visited WIM today. First impressions were very good one of the cleanest & well ordered garages I have ever seen. The staff are very knowledgeable and we discussed the issues and possible solutions. Loaded car onto the Machine and went through a detailed check of current geometry. Even though I am not that knowledgeable about this they explained every thing and involved me in the work they did to set up the car correctly. Car was adjusted to give the improvements I wanted & printout given. I have to admit I was very impressed in the faultless service given and the breadth of the technical expertise offered. And yes it made a real & measurable improvement to the car. If I ever get a problem with car geometry I will not be taking it anywhere else (and I live in Devon). Can not recommend them enough and well worth travelling to & you will not be disappointed. Thanks Tony & crew.

  3. Thanks Tony I was not unhappy with the work they did but I felt it was probably set-up on the conservative side and too parallel if that makes sense! As you have offered the expert technical opinion and really know what you are talking about could I put the business your way? I am due in Kent on Thursday from Devon so could stop in on the way there or back. Would you be able to slot the car in say PM on Wednesday, PM on Thursday or AM on Friday of this week?   4. The initial issue was that the steering wheel was about 5 degrees down on the off side. Tyre wear did not indicate any serious issues but wanted a proper (?) alignment check before I invest in 4 new tyres. For info the settings are now vis a hunter; For degrees I have use the decimal point) Left front camber -0.54 Right front 0.55 Left front caster 2.20 Right front 2.07 Left front toe 0.02 Right front 0.02 Left rear camber -1.12 right rear -0.55 Left rear toe 0.10 right 0.12 I now have the actual ford settings but they are a good range for example front toe is -0.21 to + 0.21. Realistically the answer to my question is using this type of range can a car be setup to provide better sharper steering with more feel?
  5. I have had my Mondeo set on a Hunter machine and I seem to have lost some feel to the steering. Initially my steering wheel was off by about 5 degrees. All the setting look OK on the print out (dammed if I can attach it to this post though) Now at 12 o'clock the steering feels dead and there is very little bite also it does not seem to self centre as much as it use too. The question is if it is correct set to tolerance can the settings be changed to the edge of tolerance to give me back the direct steering feel I would prefer?
