Pretty sure Mazda recalled some of these due to rear tyre wear, think they issued an alternative set up. Will have to check at work, we did a few for the local dealer!

Had a great time, nice to meet with you guys, shame about the weather - would just like to point out that it's sunny up north! Thanks and best wishes from Nigel & the team @ Nigel Lang's Garage!
Top effort to bring the team down south Nigel, i hope they enjoyed the "whole" package despite the low turnout.
Was a good weekend, good to meet up at last. Pity the turnout was lower than expected, but what was there was very impressive.
One gripe though....no barmaid and martini girls, would have been ideal weather for them

We could not match the gauge of wire to effect a repair, so we had no alternative than to fit a new wishbone!

i seriously hope these pictures are a hoax
utter disrespect for safety and whoever used that cable to hold things together
Also i bet his tracking was spot on and there was no 'weird' pulling sensations as he drove down the road.
what car is this also ?
No, I wish it was a hoax.
The car was booked in the day before, when I assume he had wired it together. When he arrived, he commented that it had just "gone again", by which I think he meant that the wire had snapped.
The car was an Astra

Tony
Are there any recognised qualifications you can gain in geometry and wheel alignment?
-
Would guess it could be something like a Merc Vito?

Not long! It used to destroy heads whenever he drag raced it, they would crack across the middle plug hole.
It was a bored and stroked 2.8 cologne engine, taken out to 4.1 in the end. About 675bhp in a 4 wheel drive cortina mk2. Escort cosworth turbos and Jag supercharger. He use dto have spare heads, diffs and box with him when he raced! Bit of a monster.
-
2 turbos, 1 supercharger, nitrous oxide injection along with methanol and water injection for charge cooling, if I remember correctly!

Take your own mushy peas! Southern chippys are dry!
Best of luck and hope it all works out.

A mate of mine is track daying an E36 325i, it is fitted with adjustable spring platform, non adjustable dampers. He has been experimenting with rideheight adjustments to alter camber. What variance in tyre temperature across the tread ould be deemed acceptable?
-
I'll second that, absolute carp! or something like that.
-
I'll vouch for that, I was there!

Countach is probably a rep. Didn't check it out too closely. had to get our tent down as weather looked like it was going to break and wind was picking up.
Heres a few more, hope they cheer you up some more!

Tony are the new civic not a mac strut, rather than the older one with top wishbone?

Bugger, He beat me to it, must type faster!

Hi there
Is your Civic a hatchback, same shape as a type R?
If so then I think the data is incorrect as the 06 sedan has different geometry.
If you check the data on the printout (ie the limits and ideal, in small print at the top of the coloured boxes) they are different than the info you have provided from the Civic website.
What tyres are fitted as some are prone to a wheelbearing type drone, also what mileage has the car done, as some clunks could be down to general wear and tear. The change in dirrection of the pull/drift suggests a tyre problem.
Although I think the front camber is supposed to be non adjustable, there is usually some movement if the front strut is attatched to the hub by two bolts. By loosening the n/s bolts, with the weight of the car on its wheels, this may increase camber. Repeating the proceedure on the offside, but with the cat jacked up should reduce the negative camber slightly. Overall this should reduce the imbalance between n/s/f and o/s/f. Other measurements look ok to me.
Hope some of this helps but I suspect Tony may have a more authoritative reply soon

Ultra violet degredation is also a factor. Look at the number of caravan tyre blowouts. Usually low mileage tyres but old, affected by prolonged exposure to sunlight.

Toe is adjustable, camber would require suspension arms being made adjustable! Similar platform to Mondeo/focus/c max etc.
