  1. The body is being made longer so i'll have the final price inc P+P next week.... It's a shame your not closer because i'm going to give a set away free to someone near to wim and willing to report back to the forums. Hey I need to make another tirp down to finish off the mapping so I would be more than happy to drop in again just as last time? Maybe sometime next week?
  2. Yummy! £158.70 for the set then? How much P+P? Can you show a little more of the instructions so I can read up whilst I wait till I can get some? lol
  3. You sending me a SAE so I can return your coffee machine token? lol
  4. I would be very interesed but as I have modifed anti roll bars to start off with and live 300 miles away I am not really a good choice! lol. I would be interested in a set of the adjustable drop links though so I could stiffen up the IL Motorsports a little more. I look forward to the prices.
  5. The First Customer car in the UK. There are two others that I know of one is Cosworths car and the other Litchfields JDM car which is running a prototype system with un finished pieces on it. When we did some mapping it turns out that had a different MAF housing to mine so a totally different map! I think MX5Parts have one to install and a few other Cosworth retailers too are advertising they can supply them. They wont get far without a MAP though as I found! lol Anyway Thank you for the Geometry set up on Monday. The car feels quicker to turn in although not had much chance to push it. A few times on the A40 on the way home but other than that it was all motorway driving. Still felt spot on at higher speeds. Please could you explain wht you did to my car so I can explain to others. A little more camber on the back... And thats about all I could remember. It was a long day! Sorry. Oh and I also have a token for your coffee machine in my back pocket! Sorry about that too! Here is a photo of my car on your ramp if you ever want to use it. And also one of the chassis braces:
  6. Well the Shark (my MX-5) had a long day on Monday! Starting at 4am and returning at 10pm with 12 hours driving and over 700 miles! The round trip included a trip to Wheels In Motion for a Geometry setup and then a visit to Litchfield and then on to Powerstation. Personally I think the install on my car is neater than that on the Litchfield demonstrator but that is running a prototype where the machining and moulding of the components are not fully finished. Anyway I am still very happy witht he hose routings on my car although it means many of the RHD hose kit went to waste. If I was to do it again I would not have bought the RHD hose kit although 4 of the 10 or so hoses were used. Litchfield are still looking into the kit so anyone thinking about it should hang fire until things have ironed out. It will save you £300 in hoses anyway. This is what was left over: At Powerstation we started on a full custom map. Very complex deal with different files, roms, versions of ECUs etc etc. It was fortunate that m ECU was one of the 3 out of 20 that ECUTEK had cracked into. This meant we could program my ECU. We swapped over the same data that was used on the Litchfield car but with no joy. The car ran terrible. Looks like the air box on the prototype is different to mine so that the MAF mapping is totally different. We went about it from scratch with dyno runs again and again as we went. We run out of tie and software licence by 6pm after 5 hours at Powerstation! We managed to map safely up to 5500 rpm but it is still very rich and the ignition timing is still out after 5500 so it a no go area at the moment. Even so I am producing over 225bhp and 203 lbf.ft at 5500 with a very smooth delivery. I will be back sometime as soon as I can to get it finished off. Bumper got a little hot too! Those exhaust tips really need extending!
  7. So you have had some good practise ready for mine first thing in the morning? lol See you soon!
  8. With the current mapping the car feels slower than the original so I can't let you drive it sorry Tony. I would be too ashamed! I am going to get it sorted on Monday afternoon but that will be on my way home from seeing you.
  9. It is finished. It is not running great at the moment due to mapping issues. Cosworth sold the kits but the mapping isn't ready. The instructions say to download the original map and send it to Cosworth and they will e-mail you the new one. Problem was the whole thing was installed on the car and then Cosworth said they are not happy with their mapping and wouldn't be able to supply me with a map for another week or two! :trigger: I needed the car running so I contacted SpinerTuning (otherwise known as DeltaForce) as they are the guys who supplied Cosworth with the flashing unit and software. They sent me a modified map to use but I am not very happy with it. I am still running 220bhp but there is more to it that just that. It is safe to use as the mixture is a little rich and there is no knocking but there is much more improvements to be had. Litchfield are the only other place in the UK that have the software and the program to do a full custom map so I am off there to get a map done very soon. I don't want to comment on performance until I have got it running properly and gave it a good test. The installation was the first done outside of the development of Cosworth UK and Litchfield as far as I know. It was done by a local garage ho specialise in this sort of thing. I bought a RHD hose kit from Litchfield and the Cosworth Supercharger kit. There were no instructions supplied so was a little difficult. I managed to get hold of a instruction guide from the US but this was for a LHD car. The main differences are the inter cooler expansion bottle. Litchfield mounted theirs on the drives side, the same side as the US car but further forward in front of the washer bottle. Cosworth seem to have rerouted the original LHD hoses and mounted the bottle on the other side of the car next to the supercharger. I decided to use the Litchfield method and mount it at the front of the car. You can not get the lid off without moving the washer bottle first (not a bog job) but a panel beater could sort something so the lid was accessible. The only other problem with the kit is that it fouled on one of the bars from my after market strut brace. The hose to the bypass valve foulds on the brace which may cause it to rub through with vibration as it is where the metal nipple ends inside the hose. I will sort this out by adjusting the brace but can always replace the original for now. Here are some photos:
  10. Cosworth is installed! Just need to load the map in and get it running. All should be good to go over the next day or two so no reason why I wont be able to come down. Fingers crossed!
  11. I am still up for coming down on the 23rd. Can I officially book that in now? Thanks, Mark.
  12. Actually here is one with scrubbed brakes and settled suspension:
  13. Sounds interesting. I would like a fast road set-up but would like to have my tyres wear equally if possible. I guess it is the chamber that causes wear on the inner edges of the tyre. Oh and the wheels are here and fitted. Love the looks and the wider stance. Fill the arches well and no rubbing so far. They even feel more comfortable that before even though the profile is just the same. Is this to do with the extra width or just different tyre manufacturers? The same Diameter but extra width: More width: Standard wheels 17"x7" with 205/45/17 tyres weighed in at 16.7 Kg each: The Ultraleggera wheels 17"x8" with 235/40/17 tyres weighed in at 18.0 Kg each: To be honest I am happy enough with this as I didn't expect to have an inch wider rim and 20mm wider tyres and actually save weight anyway. I though it could be up to an extra 2 Kg more so 1.3Kg is better than expected. I don't think the extra weight will make much difference anyway. I have some photos but they aren't very good. The car needs a wash, the bakes are rusty from sitting for 3 weeks and the photos were taken just after fitting so the suspension is sitting too high and gives the impression they are wider than the arches. It is looking much better now I have had a good drive and things have settled in and the brakes are clean.
  14. Fast road set-up sounds good to me. How does that differ from the normal set-up? As for the wheels someone running 235/40/18 has just told me they have no rubbing issues so I am hoping everything will be fine wiht mine on 17". Fingers crossed.
  15. When do you need to know for sure? It will be between the 19th and 24th but 23rd would be best with me. The new Wife is a nurse and wont find out her shifts for that week for a while. I can't say for sure until I know the shifts. I would be setting off to get to you by 9am though. Sorry I can't give an exact date at the min.
  16. Most say I wont and that you only need to roll them 2mm or so if your going to 245 width. I should know by this weekend anyway. Even if they did need rolling It is a straight motorway journey down to yours so should be too much of a problem (I Hope!)
  17. thats if I haven't worn through my tyres on the way to yours! lol
  18. I have mentioned it on other forums and apologise if I have already put it on this forum. Anyway I'm now planning to come down with my Supercharged MX-5 with its new wheels on sometime around the 22nd Feb.
  19. I was told the wheels come with everything I need to fit them to my car so I will let you know when they arrive. I have had mixed opinions about clearence though. A lot of people say they have no issues with the 235 width but others say they need to roll the arches a few mm. I hope that depends on tyres as the guys with no trouble said runninf the Toyos were fine! I don't want to have to run a silly chamber so they don't touch!
  20. I don't know about that. There are a few others with Audio mods and more bling stuff here and there. I am happy with my progress though. I have even made a car domain site... http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3226194
