AFAIK, mine has standard bushes.
Will be shagged! I've also got some knocking when going over bumps, so I know they are well worn.
-
Jon's organising a GB for uprated bushes over on IMOC at the moment. I think we're waiting for a few more people to sign up.

and MAG 1C (paul daniels)
Saw him and that plate driving down the M40 a few months back!

You think you'd learn after your first spin there mike!
It had dried out a lot by the time I got on track at lunchtime, and mine was completly my fault! I thought i'd try and get a bit of drift practice whilst out on the track
Needless to say, I need more practise

Tony,
Just for reference, what i'll be using your rent-a-ramp service for
Looks like something from Mandy's Massage parlor .... Games on jon as soon as the doors are open.
Ooooo rent a ramp.
Jon, I'll help you fit yours if you help me fit mine

baz, let me look over on some forums i've read about this problem before, will let you know i fi find anything

Drifting should be put directly below trackday setups IMO.
.... Sorted
Top man
Just seems a logical thing to me, trackday setups and driftday setups, kinda the same, but also different, but still alike
They are miles apart....Your car was set for drift... now recovered so you can feel the difference. How do you think the previous set-up would have felt on the track now you have experienced both types of Geometry?
Miles apart gemoetry wise yes...
But in the context of forums, they are both about setting your car up "for the track", just with different aims

No...but not becoz they wore down, just that i changed to 18's and i've been running these for 8.5k and still with plenty if tread on them.I took advantage of WIM when i first heard them on that "other car forum" as i was one of the first to visit WIM.
whats the "other car forum?"

so i am not alone
somehow thats comforting to know
i keep getting a lot of "i dont knows"
Will let you know if I come across any more info

Have read about this over at IMOC, but no solution was forthcoming if my memory serves me rightly....
sorry mate!
BTW, what were it's characteristics (SP?) before?
and what turbo is in your car?

My IS200 I declared the suspension, exhaust and supercharger, but not the ARB's and de-catted manifold.
As for my MR2, I havent declared anything! The 2-way LSD and lightened flywheel wont be detectable, suspension and exhaust possible, but will they know what is standard for a 1990 Jap import?
As for me turning the boost up a little..... how would they know!

That was my car
Handling for me is much better now, the front feels MUCH more secure than before!!
Trackday is looming.....
Welcome in Nick Geometrically your car gave me a massive insight to how other people set the car for drifting.....The camber and castor was as expected, but the violent toe was not, especially the front position...For a year i argued negative front toe would over activate the 'toot'.... and each time i was cut down, seemingly the cut down was miss-information trying to cut an edge.
The positions now are very....very different how does the 'turn in' feel?....... Also does the steering feel lighter?
steering feels heavier, which is what i wanted.
turn-in, need to find some more twisty roads, have only really driven it on the motorway so far, and a few laps of roundabouts at 50mph
Excellent example of Geometry..... On the front we dialled out massive amounts of Camber, which is a compressive force.... this was replaced by adding a small amount of Castor which is a mechanical force... The steering feel now is a direct result of the one angle.
What you need to asses now is the 'steering feel' and the reactive turning radii.. From this we can develop a feel and radii... Then add to this over/under steer to develop the Camber for your Geometry.
I shall certainly be monitoring it, and will report my feedback
Geometry and handling will certainly play a big part in trackdays!

Run Flat Tyres (RFT)
in Tyres / Wheels
Posted
When I got some tyres fitted to my MR2 back in the summer, I was chatting to the installer about RFT's. He said the biggest problem was the fact that both tyres have to wear more or less equal, if you have one tyre which is 50% worn, and the other gets a puncture and has to be replaced, then you have to replace BOTH tyres else it messes up with the cars (he mentioned bmw) RFT detection system.
Not sure how true that is though?
