  1. The first set of coils I fitted (Apexi's) to the IS were a real nightmare - poor ride quality and knock knock bloody knock all the time. If I managed to cure the knock on the front offside it would reappear on the rear nearside!

The HKS Hipermax RS coils I now have on the IS are perfect - awesome ride quality and quiet. I have the dampening set to 100% on the front and to 75% at the rear. 100% at the rear is just too hard!

Likewise, the TRD coils I have on the MR2 are just fine, dampening set to 80% at the front and 60% at the rear. Very easy to adjust the ride height too

  2. I would like to inform you that I have now added the 'garage' script to the forum.

    http://www.wheels-inmotion.co.uk/forum/index.php?&act=garage

After 4 hours of intense programming, it finally got there !

I have set limits of :

    3 Vehicles per user

8 Images per vehicle (of vehicle)

Image Size : No more than 150KB

I hope you enjoy this new feature.

There is a comprehensive list of vehicle on there, that came with it. If there is anymore that you OWN and would like on there, please mention here.

Please do not try and 'find' a vehicle that is not on there!

    Cheers, and enjoy :o

I would also like to add, as the garage becomes more popular, we will have a monthly vote, for feature car of the month !

Members can decide, who they think should get the months vote ........ starting with mine, obviously :D

Nice one Mr S...will get uploading!

  3. Drifting seems to be doubling in size by the hour!

Never tried it myself in anger yet but wouldn't mind a crack sometime. And RWD Jap cars with plenty of power seem to be the order of the day! :D

...well mins is RWD but not alot of power..(yet..) Still drifting is fun even if I can't hang huge angles like other people (I am really unskilled no matter how much I practise!)

The only time I've drifted was around the roundabout at M1 J26 is the pouring rain.....I lost the back end on boost and almost pooped one :o

  4. Tony gave me a custom geometry spec for my MR2, based upon the wheel/tyre size, approx ride height etc. I also got a set of camber adjust bolts, which are non-standard on the MR2. Will get this all done by next week i hope.

BTW....Tim, this was for a track geo

  5. Without being rude what was the cost... including fitting?

I bought the coils while I was in the US and got a cracking price - $1,890 (shipped) which works out at £1,080

In the UK they go for around £1,500

Fitting came to £136 inclusive at my local independant garage.

    Well pleased!

  6. Ok, I tried it and it works !

All the permissions for members to post were always on ?

Mike, are you looking for the "Start Poll" button ? because that was on the old version of the forum software.

On the new one, you click New Topic, and the option for poll is inside that one !

    Cheers.

OK......that's what I did but obviously I did something wrong

  7. I recently changed from the standard MR2 Billies springs & dampeners to a set of TRD coilovers (manufactured by Tokico) which I picked up 2nd hand for a bargain price on eBay.

These have 5 way adjustable dampening by means of a small dial and I initially left them set as they came - 3/5 at the rear and 4/5 at the front.

The ride was incredibly hard and the car was prone to much skittiness and bouncing, even with the dampening set softer. Oversteer and tramlining were also a problem.

It was only when I went and fitted the split size 16" rims with 45 aspect tyres that the problem went away. I now have he low ride I wanted, an acceptable level of comfort and all the handling capability I need.
