  2. thought the issue was engine reliability with stage 1 upgrade and that you know of no stage 1 engines that have been professionally tuned that have had any reliability issues over the years.

I named one that you had fitted and that has had issues, namely serious heat generation such that it caught fire.. and that was straight from the horse mouth, no heresay (or herasy lol) and was certainly a couple of years ago at the time of your instalation so is not something you had not heard of before cause you even agreed recompense for future labour..again from the horses nouth.

Anyways, i dont want to bog down this thread in bashing Tdi, not my intention, just wanted to point out the above issues, as yemgi clearly has concerns about such an upgrade.. so i'll shut up now.

  3. There were no confindentiality sensitivities with this client Paul.

lol i was only jesting mr Catchpole

We have not seen any engine reliability issues with engines fitted with the stage 1 pulley upgrade,

Personally, I would take some comfort knowing that no stage 1 engines that have been professionally tuned have not had any reliability issues over the years, so would go for it

    Wasnt Kieron's a stage 1 s/c'd jobby..

That was the first one we ever did a few years ago.

Didnt that have serious heat issues, even a few fires.

  4. We just finished another LOC members car recently. It's a shame it wasn't ready for the LOC meet because it would have been the best over all on the day. This shows the power and torque with and without the Camcon ativated.

OMG :) would you look at that Mark, youve gone and posted up a dyno chart, i do hope you had permission from the owner :) :)

that is really tempting, I am just very concerned about my engine being able to handle it

Yes, that is a valid concern but the very first stage 1 upgrade we did was on a standard engine. That was done years ago and is still going strong as faw as I know :)

If i were considering the stage 1 my question would be "is this ok for the standard engine or not?"

Unfortunately the answer isn't that simple.

We have not seen any engine reliability issues with engines fitted with the stage 1 pulley upgrade, but we know of broken connecting rods on engines with less power.

The only supercharged engine that we have actually seen that had broken rods, had the standard boost pressure but was seriously abused (to the degree that is unlikely to ever happen again). I have heard of other engines with broken rods but do not know the circumstances.

Personally, I would take some comfort knowing that no stage 1 engines that have been professionally tuned have not had any reliability issues over the years, so would go for it :)

    Wasnt Kieron's a stage 1 s/c'd jobby..

  5. also discount on tyres

LOL......discount for Fargo? the worlds rubber supply would run out the amount you buy :D :D

You can get a tyre insurance if your prone to punctures(1 tyre a year i think).....

lol and youve driven how many miles in 2 years..

another suggestion:- an area that members can offer other members there services for a cheaper rate than norm...
