Hey Rich LOL Yes I know (& I should know better )
-
Hey Tony, missed you too
Yes there's minor vibration is through the steering wheel, to be honest it seems to be consistent at all speeds with no improvement over/under a certain mph - although to be honest I haven't taken it to 'the max' so I can't say if it stops after say 80mph
The steering feels sloppy with no definition
There is a definite pull to the left which increases under braking
It probably doesn't help that every other car I've had has been set up to feel 100% 'planted' (with the exception of the 'trip switch' on the Eunos but that was deliberate ) and this one just doesn't have that feeling. It's been fully checked over mechanically so I know nothing is wrong there.

Hey Chaps (yes long time no speak )
After 2 years of non-ownership I've just got myself a 2001 Golf Cabriolet, which I believe has never seen a laser or even a bit of string
It pulls, it wobbles & just simply doesn't feel right at all (although no obvious tyre wear) so I need to get it sorted but I'm having trouble finding someone I can trust as much as I do the WIM team, but although I would love to come up to Chesham it's not a practical option at the moment.
So.......... I've found a local place here that has a Hunter machine and there's a few local STS/Stapletons one of which (East Grinstead) appears to be a 'trusted' centre for tyres but I'm not sure about Geo
I'm also not sure exactly what adjustments there are on a Golf as I've never had one or anything like it before and the above lot appear to add charges per adjustment so any help would be greatly recieved

I must agree that despite the lips & make-up she's doing blooming well for 90 - yes plastic surgery has obviously played a part but I'd say she wears it well

I think they are just trying to prove they are total idiots
It is cruel to the bull - it's a bit like putting your head in a aligators mouth and wondering why you haven't got a head anymore ..... I hate to say it but did anyone notice all the people in the bull run are men
-
Don't listen to him Pete, he's just being mean
-
If I'd known you were there I would've popped over. I think you definitely caught Pete by surprise!
Sorry Rich, I should have thought of that will pm you next time
Yep I sneaked the camera out and caught him just as he turned to look at the screen

Another enjoyable day at WIM
Big thanks to young Tony seen here changing the springs on my Vitz (3rd set lucky )
To get the height from this
to this
And to the 'oh no I've been caught by the camera' Pete for doing my geo
Ohh and not forgetting Jay (?) who swapped over my dead Toyo's for the new Advans
Car felt great (& looked ten tons better) height wise on my run out round the road & even better on the way home after Pete had done some tweeking
Thanks again guys (hope you enjoyed the beer) and extra special thanks to Dr Bones for making it all happen in the 1st place

Hi Janey,
seen any good 5's yet?
h
Yep, plenty but sadly not on my drive
-
Good times Sean (LOL when will people learn that despite the bigger engine it weighs more ) & great one in your Arizona
-
Saw V11TSY on a Toyota Vitz
Ok I know it's cheating as it's mine
-
That's a seriously cool photo
Do you think thats where the 007 directors get their ideas from
-
Pretty sure Halfords do it, though their website is pants
Motorworld definitely do it Storefinder (probably worth a call 1st) & usually the smaller parts shops will as well
-
Excellent..... just don't take it out in the rain
-
Maybe you ought to be shooting with a different instrument, something with a bit more calibre perhaps
mmmmm Venison on the menu
-
Thats a wonderful photo, just love the way the rain drops are caught glistening perfectly on the leaves. Glad you caught it before it became deer food

Some great pics there Rich... how was the day.?
Was a good day mate, very tiring and I treated myself to some panda eyes!!
sorry mategreat photos, loads that I saw but loads that I didnt
wont bother going next time, I will just wait for your photos
they are of very good quality
perhaps a bit of zoom needed for the track photos, but they are very hard to get right
Cheers...I've been playing with the camera in manual/semi manual mode rather than auto...hence why I was deep in concentration when you came over! I'm happy with some of them but to get the kind of shots I do want I need a DSLR camera.
That zoom was pretty much max though, every corner we were on was quite far away or if I did get in close I'd miss the shot
Yours are a darn sight better than mine Rich ..... must learn to press the button quicker so I actually get a car shot rather than a bit of tarmac
-
I had a great day, hospitality was perfect as always was good see everyone again & to chat with some of the Supra guys (who were a very nice bunch), and thanks to Daryl (Homer) for pointing his sound meter in the direction of the 'tart. Pity 'Team Green' had some breakages but it was nice to see them at least attempt to play
-
Ahh so glad you saved us having another car on the drive Tony
Great choice & really looking forward to having a nose round it next time we visit
-
Great news for all of those who can't make it to 'head office'
Nice job Mr B
-
Excellent
Now we know what happens when you get on the wrong side of a pigeon (though it did get it's 'just desserts' in the end)
-
Seeing those 2 people drop off the bridge was awful - though at least now my reasons for not crossing foot bridges over roads are justified Though still need to find a good excuse for piers, open metal stairs, edges of cliffs etc :tongue2:
-
Nice one guys
-
Last minute entry - like Scorps I will pass mine on to a non-goldie of choice
Wobbly Golf

Sorry Tony - Delayed reply - Just too much going on at the mo
Front bearings; ball joints; discs; pads etc were replaced a few weeks back, so it wasn't down to binding. Quickly popped into an ATS at the weekend who did a few tweeks (it was all pretty way out), this improved it immediately and they also suggested moving one of the tyres (which had a different tread to the rest) from the front to the rear; did this later and improved it more (cheap poo tyres on it but they have loads (6mm) of tread left so loathed to get rid of them before I need to)
It's still not perfect but it's a lot better than it was so when I get a chance (& can drive the distance) I'll get it up to Chesham
