It'll be in your scrap tyre bay somewhere!! Got the WIM guys to put on 2 new tyres on the rear as both of them were 6 years old and coming to the end of their lives.

Well had my alignment checked and all was fine, a bit out at the front but no biggie. So the advice was to replace the tyre. It no longer slides over the bumpy parts but the rear end still doesn't feel quite right.
The cars done 70k miles so do I replace all the bushes and dampers to see if that firms things up?

I think it was a bit of both. Driver error to get onto the grass though.

Evening chaps, been working abroad for the last few months.
While I was away my girlfriend has been using my Clio to get her around and it's developed a fault. She's adamant that she hasn't hit anything!!!
So it's a 2005 1.5l diesel Renault Clio with rear end issues.
Basically the rear end 'feels' disconnected from the chassis, when you go over bumps it feels as if it shakes from side to side rather than go up and down. The NSR tyre is wearing quicker than the OSR and it's also wearing The outside shoulder of the tyre. When going round bumpy right hand corners the rear end slides out and then grips when the Tarmac is smooth again.
I've taken it to my local garage and they had a good look round it and can't find anything wrong with it.
The car tracks straight and true and doesn't pull even when braking.
Hope Tony and the WIM team can fix it as I've booked it in With them on Monday at 11am. Can't wait actually as it'll be my first proper geo/alignment done ever.

Do you provide race day support to your competing drivers?
What software can simulate a race track, surely the bumps, dips and bends differ as the track gets resurfaced and also depends on how fast a car can travel around it?
Sorry for all the questions!! I find the sport's behind the scenes stuff just as interesting as the actual race!

You have to check out the videos of the Supra testing at the track - they sound awesome!!
Tony, what support does WIM provide the guy's racing? Do you go track side to answer queries regarding handling and chassis setup?

Scorps, -16 in a lorry that you slept in - how did you keep warm, surely you cant leave the engine running all night?

Well you're not going to believe this but coil-on-plug number 4 has just failed! I can't believe 3 of 4 failed in 3 weeks! I replaced the other 2 with whatever I could get my hands on quickly but I'll get a complete set of Denso's in that case.

I had a miss fire on my Renault megane 3 weeks ago so I replaced number 2 coil and the fault cleared. On saturday coil pack number 3 failed on me.
My megane uses a sequential multi point injection system but are the coil on plugs, sequential or do they work on a wasted spark principal? The Haynes book of lies doesn't give that information.
Also, are coil-on-plugs to be replaced as a pair or was I just unlucky?
Hope someone can shed some light on this, many thanks.

That happens quite a lot really. A mate of mine won a Vauxhall redtop with jenvy throttle bodies for £500, that mysteriously got nicked before packaging and posting

My first port of call would be to take the car back to the garage that fitted the tyres and complain to them. If you get no joy then I'd ring or/and email Goodyear's customer complaints department.

I've had the 2 new tyres on for a while now and all is good. It no longer slides and the rear end feels more steady so I'm more than happy with it now. Many thanks to the lads for a great service
