why do some people get ear spacers.... its all down to personal taste... or lack of

Know what you mean about finding the time to do these kinds of things. I am hoping to get to Japfest this year as i haven't been for 2-3 years for the exactly the same reasons of having a daughter. Its an interesting day out
Nice mix of motors those RS Focus things are a bit of a beast. Question : Some of those cars look like they are mid slide? Or are they pulling out of the parking spaces?
They were just parking up after or before having a wash. It looks more action than there actually was
And i have to agree, the pink on blue astra is a little marmite, in the flesh the colour is quite "ping" ! But nobody spotted the Bentley wheels on the golf.... i didnt like those

Thanks, I was there a few hours and by the end I felt more in the swing of things again but its that beginning bit getting your head back in gear that made me feel rusty. It was nice to see a mix of cars too, reminded me of the old car club I use to help run. Open and friendly forum for everyone, but it became a Jap club as the owner wanted to weed out the numbers and moved it over to facebook.
Its good fun having a small gathering, much better and manageable than a huge show

Its been years since I had been to anything car related especially anything I was in some way involved in. living some distance away from friends and having a little girl only 1 and a half makes it difficult to find enough reason to spend much time doing my own thing on the weekend.
So when a close friend and car detailer asked if I could find some time to pop over to his unit last sunday as a favour to take some photos for him at his product open day, it was the perfect opertunity for me to both socialise with some car people and get my photographic juices flowing again without feeling like I should be at home playing with my Daughter. Now it wasn't anything exceptional but it was exactly everything that I miss about being part of the car community and I have really enjoyed the response to my photos from the car guys that were there, Ive spent all evening dealing with requests for high res copies of cars from their owners despite feeling rusty on the day and that I would only have a couple of pics I would be happy with. So all in all I'm feeling pretty good and thoroughly enjoyed myself
if interested you can find some of the photos I took on the link below

That young man is a credit to humanity, I hope he lives long enough to find relief from his pain.

some of those are exceptional examples of building demolition. When done well it looks like a small black hole appeared and sucked the building in. On the other hand some of them looked like somebody just wanted to blow up the building!

I suppose theres only so far up the road you can go to try and wave down the oncoming traffic, but still, I wouldn't be traveling at those speeds in those conditions!
-
its one of the worst feelings when you can see what is about to happen and cant do anything about it. You are very fortunate he was driving a car that could stop in that distance!

the reason it hasn't taken off is because there are already reflective products out there that are both permanent and cheap. Any good cyclist shop stocks multiple adhesive materials or "iron on" strips. My issue with this is that the advertising is putting the weight of responsibility onto cyclists suggesting that if they were more visible there would be less incidents and injuries, rather than suggesting drivers pay more attention to the road and its users. In reality there are many cases of fully hi-vis cyclists injured where the liable party driving "didn't see" or "thought there was enough room", no amount of temporary paint is going to improve oblivious road users.
I don't want to start the typical argument of who is to blame, yes of course there are stupid cyclist and stupid drivers

I love that you posted a video of the roof coming down. I love the roof mechanisms because in my childish mind it reminds me of transformers
My stepmum has a Lexus is 250c and I love that mechanism

they forgot to put the 18 certificate in the corner that all good parents will ignore

to add to their existing ultimate and super car line up, McLaren have just unveiled their new "more affordable" sports car the 570s and I have to say I love it. I am very keen to see what it can actually do, but for now I get to configure my dream version

brilliant concept. I would love to experience a recreation like this

I have been subscribed to the Veritasium youtube channel for a few years, always insightful and interesting videos

I don't think it was a cross wind, as the car lifts it lifts one side more than the other. With the nose in the air and the left side leaning slightly ahead of the right the car will peal off to the left. Best example I can give is when safe to, open your car window at speed, put your hand out the window like you are going to hi 5 someone and twist your wrist slightly so the left side of your hand is ahead of the right slightly. You should fee a push to the left as the wind deflects off your angled hand

I love stuff like this

its so darn wide! I love how they say it can do all these things but if it cant fit down the road it all seems a bit pointless

they could be "show" tyres. Surely that's the only market that would actually believe they had any purpose?

I think with the elongated front, the roof scoop may need to be extended out of the air flow.
Just a pondering thought and yes it is a "feature" that wont be to all tastes, I do so love the F1 road car, it is flawless in my eyes but the GT longtail fills a childish imagination of the Batmobile,
which is partly why I have a Veilside MR2

I live in Ludlow, the nearest one would be Kidderminster I think at 23 miles, or Shrewsbury and Hereford are 25 miles away.
Theres been quite strict rules historically about what the Ludlow council allows to opened here and Mcdonalds really doesn't fit in. Its a tiny Medieval market town with more listed buildings than i've had hot dinners. Ludlow council only accepted a Tesco be built if it followed by some ridiculous restrictions, like not impeding the look of the surrounding buildings or views, so Ludlow Tesco has a roof the exact same shape as the hill line behind it to get round that requirement!
first car event in ages

yes I did mean those big plugs people put in their ears, cant appeal to all people all the time but to the individual who they belong to, its the coolest thing since sliced bread
