What was the outcome of this? Was it sorted?

Would i likely have any adverse handling effects from the partly worn fronts (change rears to new) if the Geo was shown to be out slightly and hence corrected? If you know what i mean!

OK so its not normal then in your experience?

I'm replacing the rears as they look like this (see pics)......would it matter if i kept the fronts on for a geo, they have about 3mm left above the wear marker but they do look like they are wearing the inners more than the outers also.

Any views in your experience on the Z4 wearing the inners part of the tyres or pulling one way when letting go of the wheel?

Ahh your from the garage.

I'd be after a stock check/setup if you have or can get the specs.....but i'll have a look in the meantime online for the stock settings.

 

I believe the Z4 runs quite a bit of negative camber as standard, dont know if this is true or not but it seems to be wearing the inners of the tyre more than the outers.

Also although the car drives straight and true when you let go of the wheel it pulls left, i've read of this before on Z4's and something about tweaking something in the 5 little holes that are on the alloys? Sounds odd to me!

I'm getting new rear tyres fitted next week but will be keeping the fronts (3mm left above the wear marker).

Sorry to dig this up but does anyone know if they would do or have done BMW Z4's before? Specifically the Z4 M Roadster (M3 engined Z4).

So i assume places like ATS or National are to be best avoided then?

 

I'm probably going to go to a place called Code:Red (or Wolf as it was known) in Stockport for the springs to be fitted (among a few other bits and a service, they tend to specialise in Ford) and they've quoted me £120 for a wheel alignment / geometry check which is non-laser and using some "old Motorsport setup gauges"....sound a little steep?

It'll be for just road use.

 

How much should i expect to pay for a check/setup?

Hi,

 

I'm planning on fitting Eibach lowering springs to my Focus ST2 (2007, 07 plate) which should give me around a 25mm drop.

 

After doing a bit of reading on the STOC forum it seems a geometry/alignment check would be a good idea to avoid odd tyre wear issues and handling problems, could someone recommend a place to go to in North West England preferably in the Preston, Blackburn, Burnley area?

 

Also I am assuming (i'm not to clued up on this, can you guess?!) that the settings should be made to return the car to what Ford specify for the standard car?
