SMARTLY
You don't need to check, unless you are numpty you would know from the handling
Rich
Very true, wonder what the complaint was!
andyelcomb
Of course we are all assuming that they have come off a road car - was that the case Tony? Was the car driven to you with them on or were they loose? I would expect to see tyres like that if they have been finished off for fun at a drift meeting or tarmac autotest or similar - indeed I have done just that. Of course I didn't take them on the road - that would be too risky if it was wet / damp and the consequences of a pull from Mr P would be dramatic. adam_r
I wiuld say from the fact the tyrea where wet.... they hsd just been removed from the car..... but I could be wrong
Tony
These were from a road car and the owner was aware the tread was "low" .... The car is a high end BMW with a young'ish driver and ok the tyres are not exactly cheap but come on these tyres were waiting to give someone a really bad day. Years ago someone on another forum I used had tyres that bald from never checking them. He wondered why the wet grip was terrible and was having problems getting up the slightest incline! GamithUK
Best for everyone that the driver decided to get them checked out before the inevitable happened - especially with snow being forecast. They should still know better though.

Tony
Some forget the fine for a bald tyre can be up up £2500 and whatever the fine you get 3 points on the license.

Freaky Roadster
Yup, wonder if he's also the usual type of German car driver that like to get right up my exhaust to force me out of the way. That attitude and those tyres are a lethal combination, usually for someone else.
