most of the rad caps doing the rounds are copies off ebay , the plate wont add any performance its mainly for looks so up to you whether you tell the ins co or not , some charge £30 for amending the policy even if it makes no difference to the premium

I actually think it's from Japan cos of the writing on it, I'll get a close up photo of it. The plate is £99 from Prolex, expensive bit of bling then!

Insurance should be ok, everything else has been added with no extra costs B)

It's not that bling compared to what some people do to their cars! ;)

Yeah it will be getting a good clean and machine polish but TBH that probably won't be until the New Year now. I've got servicing to do (plus the Civic and Escort), MOT next week, new (winter) tyres to get and maybe new brakes but I might get those early next year, depends what happens at the MOT. Ordered new number plates last night and I still need to get new locking wheel nuts.

I'm going for winter tyres as my excess is £300, which is slightly less than the tyres and I'd rather not skid into a kerb smashing the kit up. Yes I know that won't stop others doing it to me but at least I wouldn't have an excess to pay or I'd get it back. Plus I don't wanna get stuck or damage my motor, it was bad enough in the Mondeo last year.

Also found out yesterday that the handbrake works from shoes inside the rear discs so I will probably replace those as well while everything is off. Although they're suppose to last a long time and the car is only on 73k miles so might leave it until the next time.

Just checked the MOT history again and in 2007, 25k miles ago it failed on the rear handbrake so I'm going to assume they were replaced then. I'll take a chance then as it holds the car on the 3rd click.

Got all the other bits delivered so will service it next weekend and I have the MOT booked for Thursday.

Put the normal sized plates on today, took the front one off and they had covered the whole back with double sided sticky pads. Got some of it off but gave up in the end and just used some meths to clean it and stick the new one on. Gonna try and give it a clean next weekend and get some decent photos of it as I've still not taken any!

Looks great with the TTE kit.. glad you are enjoying it Rich.. they are great cars. I had a 52 plate model for a couple of years and it served me very well, my brother now owns it and is also enjoying trouble free motoring, he doesn't use lift though for some reason I do not understand :(

Keep your eyes on that oil level though, especially if you are using the revs.

Cheers Ollie, really enjoying the car and even without lift it's got plenty of poke. I'm checking the oil level but don't use lift that much during the week as it's 30mph all the way to work apart from a short stretch of dual carriageway just before I get there where I use all the revs! :(

Can't believe your brother doesn't use lift though! :(

Still haven't seen this yet rich! When you popping up to take me for a blast? Get more pics up!!

When I get some free time I will mate. Hopefully I will get some decent photos tomorrow as giving it a clean and check over in the morning before MOT time.

what's this "lift" you guys are peeping about ?

:) It's Toyota's version of Vtec (Yo!). Doesn't kick in as strong as a Vtec but it pulls hard all the way to 8,200rpm! :D

Me neither, but he also managed to drive my MR2 without using the turbo, I've lost all hope with him to be honest! :)

:D Surely he would be better off with a 1.6 then if he's not using lift...cheaper tax, insurance and better MPG?

You are probably right.. to be fair though, I would imagine most T Sport owners don't use lift as it's hidden so far up the REV range , your average driver may not even know it is there. The person I bought mine from was shocked when I used lift on the text drive.. it was quite a funny moment actually!

That is a fair point actually, alot of people won't or don't like revving it that high. I took the old man out in it soon after getting the car and when I hit lift he got a shock! :D

The car now has 13 months MOT  Advisory on one tyre being close to the limit, which I know anyway as getting winter ones fitted next week. Front brake pads low and one side alot more worn than the other so got a sticky caliper. Just ordered mintex all round and will fit those and sort the caliper, hopefully a clean will be enough.

I filled the tank up last week and will hit over 300 miles going home tonight from Essex but I think the light will come on when I get home, should be on 315 miles then. I have been using lift everytime I drive though!! Gonna try Vpower for the next 2 or 3 tankfuls and see what that does.

Cheers, I'm very happy :) Just goes to show if you don't take decent photos or do a proper description people don't show much interest.

Interior and engine bay to follow, they need a good clean first!
